Well the candidates all have their own fund-raising going on, whereas the party is nearly bankrupt, so I guess they need to their cover costs, still bloody weird.

So...my impression right now is the final two will be Jenrick and Cleverly. I just don't think Tugenhat has the momentum, and clearly Badenoch is damaged gods in terms of popularity. Conventional wisdom suggests Jenrick will win with the members but I'm not entirely sure...

Can't stand Cleverly but I can't stand Jenrick even more. So hoping for a Jenrick v Cleverly faceoff.
However, what if the Tory membership still votes along racial lines. We could end up with Jenrick. So er, best strategic outcome perhaps Cleverly v Badenoch? But then we could end up with worst case scenario Bedenoch because who knows which way they'd go then. Fucking minefield this one.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that each new prime minister and party leader is crapper than their predecessorEvery time we have one of these (and it feels like we've had a lot of them recently), I think the runners can't be worse than the last time. I am clearly a fool.
