Staying positive, this isn't so unusual in England. You often still bat first. You expect to lose a couple of wickets in the morning session, you just don't want to lose three or more. Then you hope to cash in in the afternoon. With rain around, shortened days could help the team batting first as well.

And of course, they've picked Leach and they're bowling last.
