I've checked back. First post admitted I'd been out and was looking forward to the highlights.
Started watching them. Burns looked, erm, edgy.
Third post, after watching all highlights, said I wasn't impressed.

Sorry, I meant Burns not Roy in my last post.
Burns doesn't look pretty, granted, but that shouldn't be a criteria on which an English opener playing in English conditions is judged. I felt the 5 posts from you criticising Burns' first innings hundred and the repeatedly quoting of the misleading '34 played and missed' statistic was excessive. Apart from the catch that wasn't given out and not reviewed (off Lyon), I don't think he nicked one.
The Katie Hopkins pop was probably a bit excessive as well so I apologise for that.

All started with Roy's brain fade. Amazing stat on tms this morning - Jason Roy's longest innings in first class cricket is 3.5 hours. He's never batted a full two sessions, ever, let alone a day. Did he think Lyon would give a shit if he hit him for six? Or two or three sixes? Naive. Bring in Sibley?
Moeen's gone. Got to be dropped. Bairstow also looks gone to me, though, and he probably won't be dropped.
It's not all doom and gloom, and who knows what would have happened if Anderson hadn't gone crook, but that's a really bad loss, the kind that will give Aus a huge boost.

How long were these highlights you pondered over ?
Dunno how test form and a good 5 hours of play can be whittled down to highlights. Kind of defeats the object.

Urgh well there's the falling apart that always seems possible with England then. Too many players not really contributing anything in that match. Some decent performances too, and granted it's the nature of the game to some degree, but you can't have half a team of passengers.
