The American mass shooting thread

That little girl has the barrel of her Uzi aimed at her mum's head FFS
And mum at her son - and with fingers on triggers...

An American on Paltalk said the dad's weapon alone cost 10s of thousands ..

Just had a google and they can be incredibly expensive, $85,000 for this shiny new one!

The M60 is a really shit beltfed machine gun.
But America banned new fully automatic weapons built after 1986 so even a sten gun that’s possibly worth £25 is now worth $2000 minimum.

This is kind of an old story, but it supports my theory that a lot of this is anti-feminist violence instead of just random violence. If you look closely at most shooters, they're men who deeply hate women and any power they might have, even just the power to say "no" to sex with them. This shooter in Denver last week is another example. He railed against the rights that "the weak" and "women" had in our society. He was angry that anyone had power who couldn't violently grab it for themselves and went so far as a write a novel of his fantasies of overturning this structure by going on a mass shooting:

"We are aware of the books written by the suspect under a pseudonym, which are a component of our investigation," a spokesperson for the Denver police department confirmed to AFP Thursday.

McLeod wrote a trilogy called "Sanction" between 2018 and 2020, under the name Roman McClay.

On photos posted to his social media accounts, McLeod has a long beard, brown hair, and tattoos across his neck and chest.

The plot of the series is described in an online review as following "a politician/billionaire (who) wants to use gene editing tech to rewrite the DNA of criminals. Think serial killers and just generally violent people."

According to US media reports, McLeod wrote in his first book about a character named Lyndon MacLeod, who goes on a mass rampage, killing 46 people in one night.

The first person the character kills is a former business associate named Michael Swinyard, in an apartment in Denver.

Denver authorities confirmed that one of McLeod's real victims had that name and lived at the same address as in the book.

In another volume, the author describes the murder of a woman named Alicia Cardenas -- the same name as a woman killed on Monday night.

My question is: Why didn't someone throw a net over him before the mass shooting. He was openly writing about killing people, using their real name and address. That would constitute a threat, wouldn't it?

Colorado Springs Antifascists have a big thread on this stuff, including the gofundmes for funeral expenses, some particularly noteworthy bits:

Got to be some questions asked about Jack Donovan inviting him onto a podcast to discuss his mass-shooter-fantasy books as well:

Take your toddler out into the countryside to meet the ducks. Let them blow the lure to get them to come closer. Let him play with your shotgun so they get used to it. Post pictures all over Facebook.

Not sure a. What I feel about this. B. The wisdom of letting a toddler play with a firearm as if it were a toy.
