The American mass shooting thread

no matter how ugly it seems over there, i still want to one day fly to florida, hire a car, and drive all the deep south and up to california. always been a dream of mine. i love the literature, music, wide open spaces that seems so familiar to us through part americanisation of our culture.

Same here, I'd love to visit the United States, but you couldn't pay me to live there, unless I was being paid as much a top Premiership footballer.

Most things are made in China, but I do avoid any food coming from there.

I'm willing to pay extra for stuff coming from Canada.
So is your position based on a belief that the American state is worse than the Chinese State or is it that you would find it too hard (and I accept it would be hard) not to buy Chinese goods?

I hope you get to follow your dream.

We have done the drive from Canada to Florida a number of times.
Got refused a hotel room in North Carolina because we were Canadians.
We saw a restaurant advertising shrimp meals so we stopped. Everyone was Black, and they stared at us like we were some type of freaks. I explained we were Canadian, and we like shrimp. Then everyone was friendly with us. One guy came over to our table and did magic tricks for the kids.

It was the south that made me realize that some parts of the country look like a third world country.

If you can't get to the States, come to Canada. We have good authors, music and more open spaces that they do down there.
And, we hid our poverty better.

You are being silly, and I'm not playing your game.

Actually, for once I wasn't.

You don't have to justify your beliefs to randoms off the internet like me. But I've travelled quite a in both the states and China, and am both well aware of the horrors both countries have perpetuated and the staggering contributions both have made to the world. I feel sadness about the lost potential of both. I just can't imagine a world view that would boycott America but not China. I can see the rationale in both, and I don't boycott either ,but for the life of me can't see how anyone could arrive at that position. Which probably is my failing.

One of my sons lives in Calgary, which is supposed to be one of the more conservative cities in Canada. That said, he tells me the free health care is excellent, better than the run down, robbed and part privatised NHS.

The Fact the Parents have been charged is a tiny step forward but I'm sure somebody will be trying to defend them

quite sure Fox news/NRA is desperately trying to find them and start the line

Communist schools are trying to take your guns away

they'll link it to the reason safe gun zones around schools are evil

if only more kids had their second amendment rights to open carrying a ar-15, this shit would not of happened

Yet if some other kid had been tooled up and shot back, the result is still a dead kid. That’s still not OK.

think your missing my sarcasm or cynical take on the state of the american media/ political landscape

if you want to see how bad parts of the american hive mind have gotten

go look up videos on youtube about the port albert massacre in tazmania

you have americans in the comments arguing that removing most guns from Aus was to heavy handed as gun deaths were already low in the country
before the event

trying to point out the idea to gun loving tooting fuck wits that whilst you can kill people with a knife quite easily
its a lot quicker with a gun is very hard

Basically, the USA impacts our economy more than China does.

It is not about their regime, it is about the impact on my country.

More than economy, it influences our politics, and big dark money from creepy US libertarian billionaires is shitting all over Europe, South America and elsewhere feeding culture wars and electing nationalist assholes. We’re powerless to stop it.

what a prat he owns a tactical m1a a civilian copy of the M14 the world least successful 7.62 nato rifle know and for extra lols he's put a low power fixed power scope on it.
He basically has a terrible taste in weapons.
Set it up poorly
Decides intimidating potential neighbours is a good look
hopefully, a bunch of Vietnamese or Afghans move in and he can role-play running away 😈
Just stop fucking posting :D

Not overly surprised, but the parents of the lad who shot up his school have run away.

A fugitive warrant was issued for James and Jennifer Crumbley, who failed to appear for a court arraignment on Friday, and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office posted a Be On the Lookout notice for them on Facebook.

Cowards!!!

Is this child abandonment?
Shouldn't they be there for their child?

Their motto seems to be "don't get caught", so, not unexpected...

A teacher found Ethan searching for ammunition on his cell phone during class and reported it to higher-ups. Administrators left a voicemail for Jennifer Crumbley and followed up with an email, but received no response.

“Lol, I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught,” Jennifer texted her son.

:D

I've often day-dreamed about riding a bike from the southern end of Chile to Vancouver (or maybe Prince Rupert) keeping as close to the Pacific as possible...
