Andor is the finest, though. But still get excited with new additions to the whole galaxy building.
I would love a series featuring the Galactic Empire mostly. I’ve always thought of Tarkin as an even more iconic and threatening villain than Palpatine. The rise of Tarkin and his ruthless military command of the Imperial Starfleet would be an awesome series to have. What, you want actual wars in Star Wars? Pfff!
They were right though, the plans weren't on board. As this thread is already up, an unrelated thought: paying much attention to plot holes in sci-fi escapism space opera films is a rabbit hole not really worth going too deep into, But since we all do, and the Death Star’s weakness and existence of the convenient exhaust port used to be everyone’s go-to quotable plot hole for decades until Rogue One came along, arguably a much bigger one, or at least extremely lazy writing, is the fact that the Stormtroopers who boarded Leia’s ship concluded the Death Star’s plans weren’t hidden somewhere in the ship in a couple of hours at most.
Something the size of a floppy disk could have been hidden in hundreds of thousands of different crevices, ventilation pipes, storage boxes, panels and other spaces across such a ship. It would have taken many weeks at least for the Empire to find a well-hidden small disk, or alternatively check every last corner to confidently rule out the plans were no longer on board.
There. I got it out of my system.
It would have been one hell of a film if they’d showed us three days’ worth of the stormtroopers tearing the ship apart until they found those plans before deciding there were actually no plans, in spite of the princess being part of the rebel alliance and a traitor, take her away. They were right though, the plans weren't on board.

Sad thing is, would be glued to it!A ten-episode HBO series, though…
It is that, but feel he's overused these days. Like the Daleks. A little goes a long way...The Darth Vadar breathing is such a goose-bumping sound for me.
He kept at least one Twi'lek slave and had her killed; he's no great loss.

Indeed.Luke Skywalker gets presented as a hero and yet he killed millions of people.....

Die a hero or live long enough to become the Joker
Brand new spinoff series Skeleton Crew has just appeared on Disney+. I wasn’t even aware of its existence and from the initial ten minutes of the first episode I can’t even tell if it’s a kid’s show or a grown up one, but it seems to have pretty decent reviews
‘Skeleton Crew’ Is Now The Best Reviewed Disney Star Wars Project Besides ‘Andor’
The beleaguered Disney Star Wars franchise has managed to find itself a hit in Skeleton Crew.www.forbes.com
I get and even share your apprehension, but so far it doesn’t feel it’s going to turn out too childish in tone. More like the aforementioned Goonies, or the likes of ET. but also potentially a pinch of Stranger Things. There are going to space pirates and grownup spaceship battles too judging by the opening scene. As a Star Wars follower, have to say that the idea of "Goonies in space" wasn't at all appealing... but as you say, it's getting good reviews and I feel duty bound to watch it.
(If I can get through the Ewoks movies, anything is possible)
Sometimes the 80s nostalgia trip feels like it's been going on longer than the decade itself. However, I do like Stranger Things and ET, so don't mind if Star Wars does it, especially if it turns out to be good.I get and even share your apprehension, but so far it doesn’t feel it’s going to turn out too childish in tone. In fact the 80s homage feel is unashamedly in your face. The town where the kid characters live, down to the houses and roads, looks pretty much like the town in ET might look in 2100.
Look for the 'despecialized' versions. They are fan cuts that ditch most of the improvements. Is it still possible to get hold of the original trilogy minus Lucas's 'improvements'?
