Same age as my mum and David Bowie when they went, within 6 months of each other, but then loads of people go in their 50s so its probably not so bad - you miss off the worst bits of extreme old age.

Salmond went full on culture wars towards the end though, which is a sad legacy to leave.

I think its a dead duck, or now relieved of Salmond as its figurehead, most of its remaining "personalities" will be at each others throats in no-time.
