Porridge and crumpets included on extensive list of foods banned from TV ads before 9pm

I'll sit in the "Ban all Adverts" camp ...

However, I quite like some of the convenient instant oat products.
They help with my IBS and are quite warming on cold mornings.

The idea that porridge* is difficult or time consuming to make is ridiculous. How long does it actually take to mix together oats and milk, and heat it slowly until it reaches the correct consistency?

* ordinary porridge without all the wanky things that posh woman was suggesting
Agree - it only takes a few minutes in the microwave.

I'm still perpetually confused by the nomenclature - especially when you add USA "English" into the mix - i.e "steel cut" and "oat meal".

I only buy jumbo oats on the basis of them being less digestible and usually don't cook them...
Annoying that Aldi only stock "organic" ones...

At the moment I only use 30g every 4 days - included in my malted 3 grains flatbread along with 30g of seeds...

Well, I my iron levels were low, and I was eating a lot of porridge, so I stopped eating it and switched to brown rice.
I randomly got anaemic in 2018 on a WFPB diet.
I was rather heavy so I imagine I was caning the muesli quite heavily, but I was also on the edge of insulin resistance. due to said obesity...

I can't remember the last time I had hot water / soy milk on oats...
When I used to I would just pour hot water on with a kettle.
The whole "overnight oats" thing always perplexed me...
Ordinary cheap rolled oats pretty well dissolve into milk anyway though not quite instant readybrek...
If I wanted serious oats it would be whole oat groats which clearly do need preparing...

I was wondering what ads might replace all food ads if 2hats suggestion went through (ban all food ads) but I think vegetable based ads might be the future!
I'd support that. We could have seasonal ads through the year such a run reminding people how nutritious and versatile turnips are, etc. They could include recipes too.

Might put the ad industry out of work, but hey, they can get proper jobs instead.
