Peckham "artist" lampoons working class people

Not an apology but not something that is going to put this to bed either. As much as her art is terrible & she lacks empathy or self awareness, she doesn't deserve death threats and the rest of the shit going on - 'specially from the red tops. No need to copy and paste the twittered threats though, and certainly not a time to have a parting bleat about this killing her career. Woefully presented. An simple apology could have been done in a far less antagonistic and self centered manner - I am sure she is utterly shocked by the backlash. Still a pup though,
If she plays her cards right this could make her career

'Jarring banter' on a 'subdued Monday morning' caused her to take the photo. Doesn't think about how she did to these guys the same sort of thing that others are doing to her - taking an image unawares, captioning it and putting it out there for mockery. In no way does that excuse the horrible abuse she is getting obviously. But I don't feel any more well disposed toward her having read the explanation/apology.

Pure evil eh?

I didn't until a month ago but my kids told me that some of their schoolmates queue up in Soho to buy the gear and sell it on - seems to be rather fashionable ? I dress like a tramp so am unaware of stuff like this

According to my daughter, I
Yeah, sure. But it's hardly a competition to see who can bring her down the most in the most threatening terms, is it?

She fucked up. No doubt about it. That's what artists tend to do, going back a bit... they all have their moments. Maybe she will learn from this. But a pity some fuckers had to get rapey on her.

This doesn't happen to male "artists" much, does it? As idiotic as someof them are...
Ironic, this abysmal artist classing scaffolders as thick. Have you ever looked closely at scaffolding on a tall building? It takes a lot of training and skill.

I think her apology is fair enough.

She isnt half as evil as half the acceptable fuckers smugly winking at us in the media most of the day...

I totally agree with that.

The owners of cultural and social capital won't be effectively challenged via further attacks on a daft middle class kid. Let's hope she's learned some humility but let's also remember the way this really works is much more subtle and hard to challenge.

The apology untangles the chronology of her tweet + the ensuing row, but I still don't understand much more of it tbh. Other than being male, working class and audible in a public place, what had the scaffolders done to raise her ire so much? What was this "jarring banter"? Is the artist ready to go all in on this game of mutually assured cultural snobbery by accusing them of making racist/sexist jokes? or was it just that they were unacceptably loud, or unacceptably common, or just plain unacceptable, by her aesthetic?

Or worse, is she ready to go all in and accusing them of failing to check their privilege?

Also conflicts with her mates' assertion that the scaffolders were being abusive to the McDonald's staff
