Yeah I do wonder whether, when these sources say their bit, they're only going off first prefs. I'm certain there will be an awful lot more gritted teeth Khan second prefs from Greens, Binface etc than there will be Bailey

I don't think this is real - all the live blogs have had Khan ahead, and gradually increasing his lead, since mid afternoon. Latest figure I can see is 39/37

BBC has a scoreboard here - now 40/35. apparently the areas reporting tomorrow went more heavily to Labour last time too

Just as a comparison, in 2016 Khan got 44.2% in the first round and 56.8% when second preferences were added.

Tory Goldsmith got 35.0% firsts and 43.2% second.

So if those figures are correct, it looks like Khan is about 5% down on last time.

the figures are correct for what's currently been counted - it's conceivable Khan might put on another 5% (or more) as the rest of the votes come in though, so it's probably best not to make any comparisons yet.
