London Mayoral Election 2024

another strand to it all is the demographic shifts - although are the inner london gentrifiers natural tory voters now in the way that they might have been in the 80s / 90s? and more working class / renters moving in to outer london with regeneration / rent rises?

now 42% - 34% overall

although (from BBC)
Back in London's mayoral race, the Conservatives have held the constituency of Ealing & Hillingdon.

Susan Hall got 75,396 votes - or 38.8% - while Sadiq Khan got 73,257 - 37.7%.

Compared to the 2021 result, there was a small swing from the Conservatives to Labour of 0.7%.

i was expecting that to be a swing to tories on ULEZ, following the unexpected by-election hold.

The Animal Welfare Party who had a strong candidate and attractive policies did well. Brian Rose has definitely wilted in recent years. Nick Scanlon has come decidedly far from first being decisively knocked back by the bin.
