Over 100,000 for Hall and less than 50,000 for Khan.Bexley and Bromley buck the trend, a swing for the Tories, with 10000 votes more in comparison to Bailey in 2021.

I thought they were saying 2.5% C->L overall? Will state, according to BBC, no actual swing!
After 50% of the votes cast counted, it is looking like Labour's "it's going to be closer than you think, don't vote with your heart or the Tories will get in" message was bullsh*t

I am somehow astonished that that many people would actually bother to turn out to vote for Hall. But then Bromley strikes me as the kind of place where you might get another small-minded types who are genuinely bothered about fucking ULEZ.He

Overall yes, but for Bex and Brom the percentages stayed pretty much identical.I thought they were saying 2.5% C->L overall?
Still....yes, but the more tory / anti khan leaning outer suburbs are the ones that haven't been counted yet.
with this being FPTP rather than 1st / 2nd choice, don't know if some on the far-right are encouraging a tory vote this time round, though. there were visible 'vote hall' placards in thepissed right wing twats gatheringpatriotic celebration of st george's day in whitehall a couple of weeks back...
Bexley is very Tory too. Except where we live in.Thamesmead but not a single Labour flyer.not entirely surprised, the ULEZ and 'pay per mile' bullshit have gone down fairly well in that sort of patch. expecting similar in the outer north east / north west boroughs as well.
Even the Tube can't be bothered to go there.I am somehow astonished that that many people would actually bother to turn out to vote for Hall. But then Bromley strikes me as the kind of place where you might get another small-minded types who are genuinely bothered about fucking ULEZ.
The fact buses are regular and efficient is not noticed by those who have never taken a bus.
I didn't think that till I saw some equally batshit 'neck and neck' messaging a couple of hours ago. Easily swayed.Does/did anyone on here really think that the batshit Tory would seriously challenge Khan ? She's probably one of the worst candidates they've ever had .
Johnson will make his Mayoral comeback in 2028.to a fair extent you are right, but there are bits of bromley borough (the old orpington rural district) like pratts bottom (street view here) which have a bus less than every hour (timetable here), although that's probably more than many similar villages outside london get.
bexley is generally more built up, and certainly on the crayford (bexley borough) and dartford (kent) border, it's hard to see the join. although then you get issues with the TFL regulated london bus services / deregulated non London services, and bus services across the border are more complicated.
there was a mayoral candidate a few years back by the name of johnson (can't remember what happened to him) who promised more / better bus services in the outer suburbs, possibly something akin to the recent 'superloop' sort of thing...
More tfl services going out of London would be a godsend. That's harsh; not many places down here in real London have the tube.Even the Tube can't be bothered to go there.
