Libya - civil unrest & now NATO involvement

translated, he tells the youth to "sing, dance, stay up all night", so is he + or - pills? make your mind up Mad Dog.

Friday prayers should be finished soon, it looks like the last of the daylight there, good luck to anyone on the streets in Libya, if not today it will be another bloody week.

They're sincere whilst focused in on 20 people. Look at the back of the pics, there's roads running and vans/coaches parked - the depth is nothing. It's like a free community festival. Not enough to win fuck all frankly.

I haven't got a look at this lot. Beyond the small numbers in all clips of his supporters there is a 'quality' to the footage. Not at all relevant to what's going on or conspiraloonery. It just bugs me.

Previous ones I've seen have not looked convincing at all. Some are threatened to go out or .... according to a couple of things I've seen.

The raveolution aspect of the rhetoric employed by Gadaffi & family during these events has certainly provied a surreal air to proceedings. I noticed on youtube last night there is already a dance remix of one part of his rant from the other day, 'zenga zenga'.

The sooner Saudi kicks off, the better.

The world is focused on the tragic events unfolding in Libya, which have alarmed U.S. policy makers and spooked markets into bidding oil above $100 a barrel. Yet a non-event -- the unrest that is not occurring in Saudi Arabia -- could prove just as important in determining the future of the region and the world economy,

Observers such as Peter Zeeman, of the geopolitical consulting firm Stratfor, are betting that Saudi Arabia will escape the turmoil. “Odds are the Saudis would hold on because they have much better social control in the form of policing powers, and they are better able to insulate the minority group that might like to see a change from events in the outside world,” he says.

Phew ! That's ok then :)

There's a little dark corner of my brain that has a slight grudging admiration for gaddafi - he's a completely deranged, psychotic, nipped and tucked despot, and he's still fronting up to the rest of the world - that cunt won't go down without a fight.

He's farting in his tent, and wafting it at the world. :)

''These areas are all calm..... under control''. Yes, and who is in control there and keeping it calm Saif?

There is a little bit of me feels sorry for Saif.

This Gaddafi swansong is beginning to get on my nerves

It's like a mediocre standup comic keep returning to the stage for more encores

From the Guardian update re: control of cities not under Gadaffi.

"... are being ruled by committees of lawyers, doctors, tribal elders and army officers – with little sign of Islamist involvement."

Part 2 features some stronger questioning from the presenter, and a bizarre moment just after the 4 minute mark where Saif appears to be describing Libyas state tv as 'very bad, playing music all the time, not following events, very arabic traditional', in response to a question about diplomats etc defecting.

edit - ah I get his point now, our own state tv is shit with no credibility so thats why we've invited foreign media in to dispel the rumours
