Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered
The massive furore over Willie Basson Cricket SA's head about his role developing chemical weapons for the apartheid regime

He eventually gets to stay promising to promote more "black Africans" (his words) into the team.
Jacques Kallis, probably the world's greatest all-rounder ever, calling for a return to the death penalty (used in apartheid times against suspected militant youths) after a friend of his was killed in a burglarly raid:
"Something really has to be done about the crime in this country #deathpenalty”
Many agreed, most didn't see it as any kind of problem, in part because Kallis is so good at cricket, no one has accused him of bringing politics into sport etc.
Now Zimbabwe, with its MDC-ZANU coalition giving fairly unimportant sports to the MDC, has ignited a storm by its white MDC minister saying older team selectors must have played for the national side to be selectors. More white ex-players than black ones hence seen as restoring the old order, according to Givemore Makoni.

Does anyone else find this stuff interesting or is it just me? I think the selection issues and coaching issues are sometimes more interesting than the cricket.
