Hong Kong: what next?

Am I crazy at midnight to be watching the sociopaths in The Commons and screaming: "Liar! Liar! Liar!" at the top of my voice?

Almost certainly! After all, I'm Pritti Vaycunt!

I don't think I can cope with Johnson. I may destroy myself.

Come Bells. Let's go for a piss. The rest of you can fuck right off! (Apart from all Urbanites, of course, whom I love.)

It's getting worse.

Take care peeps.

And this one was from yesterday (I can't find any reports in English; looks like it slipped under the radar).

Two Chinese Uni students, one age 19, one just 17 (must be very bright!), charged under the same old colonial sedition laws.

The University called police after a demonstration.

As you may know, the upcoming "election" of the Chief Executive takes place on the 8th of May 2022.

The nominations are finally in and it's sure going to be a cliffhanger!

All potential candidates (and their families,) are extensively vetted by three different Beijing-appointed bodies/committees before being allowed to submit their names to the Nominating Committee (comprising 1,500 pro-CCP and CCP-approved nominators,) for nomination to stand as a candidate.

Once the Nominating Committee nominates the candidates, it magically transforms into the Election Committee and chooses between these candidates.

So ... the nomination process is complete and the candidates have been nominated!

I'm almost wetting myself with excitement!

The list of pre-vetted candidates nominated is below:

1) John Lee.

2) - .

3) - .

Yup! The Election Committee (same as the Nominating Committee,) has nominated a single candidate.

The final vote is on the 8th of May.

Hong Kong people are insanely excited and dripping with anticipation.

The atmosphere in the run-up to the election is electric.

The tension is building.

I'm chewing my nails!

We can't wait until the final result is known!

Will it be John Lee or ................. John Lee?!

We'll have to contain ourselves until the 8th of May, I guess.

John Lee says he's campaigning hard among members of the Election Committee and working on his manifesto, which will be released as soon as possible. (This is true!)

Meanwhile ...

Another news report that's been on my mind (there are simply far too many for me to even begin try to document, it's soul destroying,) comes from three weeks ago, 06/04/2022.

Back in January 2022, activist, barrister and politician, Chow Tang Hung, (currently jailed without bail and awaiting trial on NSL charges,) was in magistrates court defending herself against a charge of unlawful (peaceful!) assembly over the June 2021 Victoria Park Tienanmen candlelit vigil.

Representing herself, she was making her closing argument to the magistrate (mostly about the rights of others it must be said - she's intelligent, articulate and passionate).

Among those in the public gallery, were a bunch of supporters, co-activists, etc. who at one point, briefly, applauded her oratory. They were told to be quiet by the magistrate, who also asked the police present to note down everyone's' Identity Card number.

Job done. Order was restored, she was convicted. Next case? Shoplifting noodles? Move on.

Fair enough so far. For such disturbances the process is usually to warn the gallery to be quiet and then warn again and then warn again of a possible contempt of court charge and then a final warning and then, if it still continues, have them removed from the court and, potentially - though not necessarily - charged with contempt of court (if convicted, usually a small fine upon conviction).

Then, on the 6th of April 2022, the National Security Police conducted pre-dawn raids on the homes of six of those who were in the gallery. They were arrested and held in custody, all their phones/devices confiscated.

They have been charged with sedition.

Translations into English always evolve with reporting but early renditions suggested the charge was along the lines of: "Conspiracy to incite contempt or hatred towards the judiciary and the government with seditious intent", or some such.

I dug out this France24 report but reporting, both locally and internationally, is thin and getting thinner.

Tectonic plates have been rumbling for decades and seismic shifts are underway. Stay very, very aware, good peeps.

The old, original, alliance between the CCP and the Soviets has been rekindled under the auspices of Xi and Putin. But this time with "Chinese Characteristics". Beijing now owns Moscow. Fascism has arisen again.

(Edit to add ... Coincidentally, another fascist was born today, 20th April 1889. Adolf Hitler - Wikipedia .)

And remember to be nice to each other peeps.

"And now, inevitably, the spirit of the new law is migrating, moving slowly but surely to influence other laws. Chief Justice Andrew Cheung has recently acknowledged, in a Court of Final Appeal ruling, that the stringent national security law’s bail conditions are being followed in other non-national security cases that nevertheless have national security implications. The December 2021 ruling from Hong Kong’s Court of Final Appeal held that the national security law should work in conjunction with other Hong Kong laws, to seek “convergence, compatibility and complementarity."

By the way ... one of the retired English Supreme Court Judges still on the roster of non-permanent CFA judges is none other than the (swivel-eyed grifter,) Lord Jon Sumption! Aged 18 to 32 years old.

Eleven people convicted of participating in a riot back on October the 6th 2019.

It took over 30 months to come to court.

None of them did anything violent.

The were all arrested, in the vicinity, after the event.

All have been remanded in custody.

Sentencing on the 8th of May 2022.

A reminder ... Even before the National Security Law was imposed, more than 10,000 of our young people had already been arrested. Close to 2,000 have already been imprisoned for years.

They are paying the price for trying to stand on the front line of freedom. They had no weapons.

Happy days ahead.

If the line isn't toed, media is closed (and editors/journalists jailed).

The last bastion of TV impartiality was RTHK (HK's version of the BBC). Since 2019, RTHK has been completely dismantled and then resurrected in association with CCTV (CCP-run Chinese State TV).

This is really interesting.

Not about HK but rather China/Russia.

Apparently, CCTV showed borders on its maps of Ukraine/Russia up until 27/02/22.

Since 01/03/22, Ukraine's borders have disappeared on all maps shown on CCTV.

Don't let anyone assert that the CCP is, in any way, neutral here. Its input is both instrumental and crucial.

SCMP article from 24/04/22 attached too. (It's restricted, unfortunately, I think, at least for me, though Phil Cunningham has a Twitter @jinpeili that may explain further, haven't been there yet.)

And if you can't access the SCMP article, at least make the effort to click on the comments (which are always accessible,) and read a few dozen of the most recent.

It'll help you to understand the degree to which the (millions of,) online CCP-operatives are exerting influence and shaping the narrative across all popular social media and commentary outside of China.

It's really stark.
