Glastonbury 2019

Riff

B@nned from eGofestivals
Seeing as nobody has started a thread and ticket day is looming, I thought I'd kick things off.

Can't afford the deposit as moving this month :(

will try my luck in re sales... been lucky before there.

I’ll be doing the desperate 9am shout at my laptop on Sunday morning. Not doing coach as it was a fucking disaster last year :D

I will be trying Sunday morning with the masses but fortunate enough to be able to use a local address in April if that fails , can never quite relax until its confirmed

an inconvenient friend has the audacity to have a significant birthday party on saturday, so we'll have to journey through the night just to be in place for sunday morning. Good luck all.

Probably a daft question but here goes, thought I’d ask on the off-chance anyone knows/has experience - if buying for a group and one member of that is in a second group and scores a ticket first how does the subsequent transaction for the original group play out? Does the ticket holder get intelligently dropped (so just 5 tickets purchased) or does the entire transaction get voided?

I don't know for certain, but I think that the Registration number comes up as having already been used - so it's not possible to make the transaction twice. But that doesn't block the transaction for the rest of the group.

That's how friendships combust because if you put in 6 reference numbers and one has been used you have to work out which one and then remove it and try again ... By which time its sold out.

If you are all trying for the group you only try for the group.

Much as I've mostly always had a good time at Glastonbury, I'll be fucked if I'm going to jump through all these hoops just to get a ticket.

Did you fail to get a coach plus ticket package in 2017 then? I sort-of remember something I think ... sympathies ... :(

But one of our best pals will have been striving today for a coach ticket. We haven't heard yet if he's succeeded this time, but he got in by coach package for the last four festivals, and by magic or something, he's succeeded on his own without a syndicate

We're slightly (OK half-way! :D ) confident that we'll get our jobs back again, but our lot won't know for sure one way or t'other until April next year ... even just our applications for Info Crew can't go in before February.

But given that this is an ultra-First World "problem" :p, we'll deal ...

... for now, for the actually important priorities, see my post number 21 above :)

No I got a coach package, but the coach was a disaster on the way there. It was over 4 hours late arriving to pick us up, and then broke down on the way out of the car park leaving London. We were told it would probably be another 4 hours or so for a replacement, at which point we gave up and got a cab to Paddington and got the train. Fortunately we eventually got a refund.

Funnily enough, that is exactly what happened last night. Two of the six had hedged their bets with another group and didn't say anything. Three of the original group all got through, put in reg numbers and postcodes....only to be kicked back because two of the ref numbers had already got tickets. Means four of us didn't get tickets....

Fingers crossed for Sunday!

During the key 20 minutes when the tickets are on sale that person is either cheating one group of any of their F5 pressing time and attention or splitting it between the two groups. As such they deserve to be outcast from both groups, surely?

e2a Private Storm for exactly the reasons you've given. Was it one of them that got the ticket window and placed the order for the other group not yours? Awful way to behave.

ps Rumour suggests that this year they're blocking multiple tabs on the same browser but not (?) multiple browsers on the same device.

Wow, that's on a par with my mother's epic 9hr coach journey to site from Bristol some years ago..
