Glastonbury 2008

AH.... you asked if you could post it and everything :)

Hello :)

Hello :)

Yes I didn't like to interrupt you too much while you were working, so I didn't chat.

But I did enjoy myself. Its nice in there, isn't it. :)

I have to admit, when I saw it back, I thought to myself 'my, how formal' :D

It was nice to sit on real seats, all plush! I should think it would be quite busy if it were raining. I had a very pleasant couple of hours though, so thanks for that. And I was given Love Hearts! :)

Spent a pleasant hour or two in there as well on Sunday. Some bod dressed in cleaning lady's garb (complete with tabard) gave us a freebie peach flavoured blunt, which we ended up sharing outside with the group of locals from our booth on a day ticket to the festival.

I was just watching Candi Staton and spotted dub and ouchmonkey. I can't make out pieye, magic sam or me though.

Maybe.....

:D

I was in there, sitting at the back, totally battered. Didn't realise who you were. Enjoyed the tunes.

she was well cool, very funny

Can someone confirm for me that Prince Buster appeared (or was due to?) in Shangri La at some point?

I never got to verify when, or I'd definitely have made the effort .... the PB thing remained an unconfirmed rumour when I was there .....

Check them all out! I did ....

Fantastic pix!!

"I never knew there was so much in it" :p :D

H4C was on to us about the Wacky Races, if I'd known they provided such a  spectacle, I'd have made the effort to come along ...

The wandering about the site pictures are fabtastic too, and as for the performers, I missed a load of them** and wasn't aware that a fair few of them were even there ... who are Bison?

**Jealous about missing Seasick Steve, the Tofu Love Frogs, Balkan Beat Box, Manu Chao, etc., etc. ... and who on earth is that "Is This The Last Song?" lady?

I saw the wacky races lot coming through the Glade on Thursday night, didn't realise they were racing, just thought they were being daft :)

I think that was probably the pre-race parade. :) One of the guys on those boards runs the Cut The Mustard stall on the far side of the Other Stage. They "raced" back from there to Jazzworld.

Gosh! Who are those most smartly dressed chaps? More mud next year please :D

Just 'cos you're wallowing in slurry there's no call to let standards slip sir!
thin end of the wedge, grumble, whatnot, etc.
Also if you've not been in there - perhaps put off by queues or its dreadful name - it's absolutely gorgeous in there, so it feels better to make an effort.........

It is - a real pleasure to play in there, although it's always a bit quiet that early in the day...

Hello mystery girl! - seriously we aren't that busy you can't say hello, although I'm suprised how drunk I look already.

Ahhh ok... yep, put like that

Sometimes I wish they did alcohol in there, and you could smoke, but then again if they did that I'd probably go in, and then never come out for hours. :)

This is what pissed me off about it last year, if you want a drink you have to go outside and risk not gettiing back in again.

You can take alcohol in, though

They do serve alcohol at every other festival but some weird licensing shit means they're not allowed to there, it's a thorn in their side.

Although there might sometimes be some 'special' fruit cocktails if you ask the right person

Only one of the best ska bands in the land. Didn't you see them at Endorse It last year?

They passed me by last year and I haven't picked up on them at all  (indeed  !)

Looks like I need to rectify this ASAP!

No idea. I only caught the end of their set. She asked one of the crew whether this was their last song & when he said it was she promptly got her tits out! :D

More of that sort of thing! :p

Sorry ...

Ah ok... and I was thinking it was down to the owners of the speigel tent... not wanting their fabulous vintage thing getting the extra wear and tear that would come with it being a full-on bar.

Who was I talking to by the cider bus on wednesday? Arrived with bluestreak and meems and recognised me as that bloke wot bangs on about bristol rovers all the time.

I'm sorry, we were never properly introduced

kained and able?

God no, the Pussy Parlure management are always irritated at not having a bar there. But then M******m also runs half the dance area and the Jazz World stage, so he's doing OK ;)
