yeah, seems so, but takes a bit longer.
train is only 1 hour 45 & seems to be 51 quid return.

i'm still undecided...
Do you get booked on a specific coach?

If so, having seen photos of the madness that is the train station come hometime I'd go for the coach everytime....

Yeah, but you have to change trains at Bristol (or maybe bath), and then get the shuttle bus from Castle Cary. So that's 2 extra lots of humping your bag around.

Whereas on the coach, you only have to sit down and wait, before making one journey with your bags. Means you can get drunk or whatever on the coach and not have to worry about coordinating yourself at train stations.

i know, i'm totally up for the coach, but my little friend is insisting on the train.
i remember the last time i got the train, bloody years ago admittedly, it was complete chaos!

there are direct trains btw.

The train was fine when we went up on Wednesday in 2000 but was hideous trying to leave. Sun was evil and we had no shade for hours waiting to get on the platform :(

top tip: when dumped at glasto coach station avoid lengthy queues by humping your kit round the edge of the festival to another gate... as hot and sweaty as waiting, but atleat you'll be doing somthing

not sure if anyone else has booked yet, but I'm booked on to 'a'/'the' 1100 coach from Victoria on wednesday 20th.

Dose anyone know if you have to be registered to be a litter picker, it dosn't say anything about it the email I got from the addy on this thread. My mates only just decided she needs to do Glastounbury

Its really annoying all these people with normal tickets are getting the coach when I have been lumbered with coach tickets and want to drive!!!

I could end up getting a lift - with a normal ticket I keep my options open.

Tort

That guide does not come with the warning that the Cider Bus cider is blurgh and I like cider. The brother bar saves me.

That apple brandy they do is pretty nice though.

She should apply to join the piss patrol...I imagine they'll have it again this year...was nearly tempted to apply cos there were 2 REALLY hot women working on it in 05...

was thinking of getting a more stress-free and lighter tent.

Has anyone tried one of the quick-pitch ones before?

Any good, or did it collapse as easily as it went up?

Single skin, so while it'll be fine in light rain if there is anything like last time you'll be swimming.

As for stress free pitching - just camp with us all and I'll give you a hand if you aren't confident. I think my record was about 8 tents one year :D

got any tent recommendations for one which is light, reliable and easy to put up?

yes hang on I'll find the link

the one stig bought lat year is great and thats on the camping porn thread

How far away is the camper van field these days. Is it still in the same field or has it been moved?

If it's like last year, there are several fields, the closest being about 5-10 mins walk from the gate, the furthest being about 20 mins walk. All are surrounded by a metal fence.

I think a difference for this year is that there is a finite number of places, whereas in previous years the area has expanded to satisfy demand.

I can vouch for that! :D

Took me enough time to finally concede I needed help though...

Of course, no need for help these days, what with being Tent Master to the Gods 'n' all (where's the smugly proud* smilie??).

*or should that be proudly smug  Nope, I think I'm proud in a smug way rather than smug in a proud way.

That was pointless.
