F1 2023

i have no idea why lando has never asked for sponsorship from the chicken shop

it makes so much sense and he'd get the black card

max just waiting to get back to the garage to call out the team for giving him a shit car

"fuck you for giving me the most dominant car in the last ten years of racing "
He's such a sour, graceless git.

Interesting to hear that loud booing on the podium.

It's nice to know it's not just me. :p

hmm odd that they built the sport around max for the last 2 years since going for big ratings due to netflix

are people getting tired of seeing red bull just dominating everything

when the sport was changed to bring around better racing

its shocking me tells you shocking

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc disqualified from United States GP

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have been disqualified from the United States Grand Prix after excessive skid-block wear meant their planks did not conform to F1's Technical Regulations. Post-race checks carried out by the FIA's Technical Delegate discovered the infringements after the 56-lap event on a bumpy Circuit of the Americas. Hamilton had closed into within 19 points of Red Bull's Sergio Perez in the Drivers' standings with second, having pushed Max Verstappen all the way to the end following a fascinating strategic battle.

Leclerc on the other hand had slipped from pole to sixth by the end of the race having been left on a one-stop strategy by Ferrari. Following an investigation, the stewards' report for Hamilton read: "During the hearing the team acknowledged that the measurement performed by the FIA Technical Team was correct and stated that the high wear on the skid pads was probably a result of the unique combination of the bumpy track and the Sprint race schedule that minimized the time to set up and check the car before the race.

"The Stewards note that the onus is on the competitor to ensure that the car is in compliance with the regulations at all times during an event. In this particular case, the rear skid in the area defined in the Technical Delegate’s report was outside of the thresholds outlined in Article 3.5.9 e) of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations, which includes a tolerance for wear. Therefore, the standard penalty for a breach of the Technical Regulations is imposed." The same ruling applied for Leclerc, with both teams able to appeal the decision.

Aston Martin woes continue as Stroll investigated by stewards after HUGE blunder

Aston Martin's woeful weekend in Austin continued as Lance Stroll drove onto the grid despite having to start the United States Grand Prix from the pit-lane - and was already under investigation before the race had even started. Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and Stroll have endured a particularly disappointing weekend, unable to progress beyond Q1 during Friday's qualifying session. As a result of making setup changes in parc ferme conditions, both drivers started from the pits instead of taking their positions on the starting grid in 17th and 19th, which is where they'd qualified. Alonso eventually retired from the race and Stroll secured P9.

No further action from stewards
However, that P9 finish was under threat for a time as the Canadian waited for the outcome of the stewards' investigation. Stroll did not drive into the pit lane after his sighting lap, but drove onto the grid instead. The Aston Martin crew then had to push his AMR23 back into its correct starting position. Eventually, Stroll learned that he would face no further punishment from the stewards.

"After completing his reconnaissance laps, the driver of Car 18 did not proceed to the pit lane directly, but missed the pit entry and continued on track until he arrived at the end of the starting grid despite being required to start the race from the pit lane," they said. "The car was then pushed back to the pits by the team on skates. The Stewards note that the scenario caused by the incident was far from ideal. However, having reviewed the matter in detail, although the established process was not followed, no breach of any regulation was evident."

Is F1 set for hurricane disruption?

This weekend sees the 19th round of the Formula 1 season take place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez. Max Verstappen enters the round having sealed the Drivers' Championship already, with Mexico forming the middle part of a triple header featuring the United States and Brazil. Scorching conditions have been present at the last two rounds from the USA and Qatar, but the temperature is set to be cooler this weekend.

Hurricane set for disruption?
There is currently a category five hurricane passing over Mexico, named Hurricane Otis. According to our friends at WeerOnline.com, it is moving roughly 200 kilometres north of the circuit and will hit the circuit with rain in the build-up to the weekend. As a result, it will wash away all the rubber on the track and leave it in a low-grip state when the drivers take to the circuit for Friday practice. The first free practice takes place at 19:30 BST, with the weather throughout the day showing a mix of sun, clouds and potential showers. While the temperatures will be lower than previous rounds, it will still not be cold with a maximum of 25 degrees projected for the day. Qualifying day is set to be dry with little wind present at the track, while the temperature is projected to rise to 26 degrees. Similar conditions will be present during the Grand Prix on Sunday and the drivers shouldn't expect rain to interrupt their strategies.
