F1 2019

Mercedes have been on pole the last couple of years but Ferrari have beaten them in the race, so all to play for tomorrow.

Never right off Lewis in qualifying :)

It will be interesting to watch LeClerc chasing Max tomorrow, for sure LeClerc has the faster car in race pace

It’s fascinating to finally see the competitive order shaking out. I was really expecting Ferrari to take the pole as I’d bought into the “Ferrari are sandbagging” hype. I was even considering putting money on Vettel for the WDC a couple of weeks ago.

RIC and Hulk so evenly matched, that’s a driver pairing I really want to follow during the season.

What odds will you give me that Grosjean finishes the race tomorrow without crashing or causing someone else to crash? He always seems to get overexcited when he’s that far up the grid.

Can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and watch the race.

Not watched F1 for the last few years, but feeling like I might get back into it for 2019. Nice to see some new faces and names in the driver and team lists - shame Kubica did so poorly, I really liked him back when he was last driving. Hopefully he can make up some positions easily enough tomorrow.

Yeah Kubica really looked like he was struggling tbh. Ragged driving and no doubt heaps of frustration at all the sacrifices he’s made to get back into F1, only to find himself in an uncompetitive car.

I do hope something goes right with the development of the car and he has a chance to show some talent during this season.

Lance “buy me an F1 team, Daddy!” Stroll didn’t help his image by getting knocked out in Q1 when his teammate made it all the way through to Q3. I wonder if he will be able to get on terms with Perez this year, as that is some proper opposition for him to be measured against.

What time are we all up tomorrow? I have an calendar alarm set for 05:10 UK time which I set up a long time ago :hmm: am fucking shattered after a week in the UAE but don't want to miss the start of the season.

So I'm trying to watch qualy on All 4, (which is utterly shit and unuser friendly), the *compulsory* adverts include SKY F1 adverts....wtaf?

I have alternatives for future races but have been badly prepared for this and am not letting it happen again.

NOW!

I'm up now!

It's three fucking thirty and I've been awake since about one-thirty.

I can't pretend that's dedicated petrol-hedonism, though.

I suck at sleeping.

:(

I'd forgotten how much advertising Sky crams into the airwaves before (and after?) the GP.

Still, it's worth it not to have the race interrupted.

I remember when ITV used to do that.

"And while you were away, Mansell has taken the lead..."

We are under starters orders now, I've missed Teds but I guess he will be around soon, also looking forward to Jenson joining the crew.

Looking forward to seeing how the McLarens are in race pace and also to watching LeClerc race under presure

I’m watching “viasat motor” coverage with Swedish language commentary. Should be more bearable now that Ericsson is no longer on the grid. Listening to them getting excitable each time he overtook someone to move into 18th, etc, used to be painful.

All the grid interviews they’re doing at the moment are in English anyhow, for obvious reasons!

Try to pick a different language commentary for each GP.

:)
