Good morning all, reading the press this morning I see Leclerc agrees with me about the Ferrari strategy
He has said this "We did an audacious choice of tyre for the start, softer than our opponents, I will give it everything and
hopefully gain some positions in the first few corners. Seeing the race simulations I don't think there's much difference between the two tyres. I don't think it's night and day, to be honest.
If we can overtake them at the start, we might have a chance".
There appears to be some debate about a 1 or 2 stop race being fastest. Because of the short pit-lane and therefore a faster turn around some are claiming that 2 stops is faster. I'm not sure Pirelli really speak to the press too much about race strategy as they have personnel placed in all the teams and wouldn't want to say something that compromised a teams strategy. but according to some news reports Pirelli have said a couple of things, it is claimed Pirelli believe that by starting on the mediums, Mercedes and Red Bull could opt to one-stop by switching to the hard tyre, but because of the short pit-lane, this doesn't really would work. A reported tweet by Pirelli is meant to have said "The quickest strategy for the 52-lap race is a two-stopper, with a one-stopper practically ruled out, best two-stopper goes like this: start on the soft, after 13 laps take a new set of softs for another 13-lap stint and finally hard to the finish. For those starting on medium, first stint on the medium for 15 laps, change to the soft for 13 laps, and finally hard to the end".
Not much chance of rain Mr Juice according to the weather forecast but what do they know
