I am trying to fathom it too. Commentary seems to suggest it is standard rules/procedure but making up at least 5 second deficit under a VSC while in the pits?

We need Limejuice here to explain this

Its interesting to see two Renault customer teams beating the factory team, that will not go down well in the board room

Of course...

It has hardly been an exciting race in terms of overtaking and racing. Some good performances and some fails all down the field. Top three teams still bossing it but good to see some improvements lower down.

If he has any sense he won't. Did not outrace Hamilton and would likely have been 3rd without that 'helping hand' in the pits.
