F1 2017

Did Webber really say "its a bit of a mickey mouse track here, isn't it" or did I miss-hear that?

If Bottas doesn't do the business next season I can see Ocon taking that seat in 2019, but Bottas is looking better and better, I hope these two polls at the end of the season give him confidence for next year, I like to see him push Lewis
Bottas makes a good team-mate for Hammy. He's a good number two driver, in the same way that Kimi works well enough for Ferrari and Vettel. Ocon would in no way respect a world champion's number one status, which would definitely push Hammy, at the expense of team esprit de corps. I'd like to see Bottas keep his seat - he comes over as a nice guy.

I agree with you, I'd just like to see how Lewis coped with some young risk taker alongside him. He started in McLaren alongside ex-world champion Alonso and it would be good to see him find himself in that same situation.

It seems that Mark Webber really did say "its a bit of a mickey mouse track here, isn't it" during the post qualifying interviews, I bet that went down like a cup of cold sick with the organizers as it would have been played over the circuit PA system.

Anyway here is Teds Qualifying notebook where he confirms that Webber really said it

I like Ted's ambling, rambling style and on-the-hoof interviews. He does know his stuff. I wonder if other TV stations have copied his Notebook presentations, in the same way that Martin Brundle's grid-walk has spawned a hundred copy-cats and made the pre-race grid a complete mess.

He’s right though. It’s rubbish.
But do you say so to the crowd that had paid loads of money to see it, in front of the track owners and promoters, in front of the the sports owners and as many as 1 billion people watching on the telly :)

Sometimes is best to keep your opinion to yourself

Good morning all, so we are under starters orders for the final race of the season, I'd like to see Bottas win but I'm not sure he will be able to hold Lewis and Vettel back

If Hammy took Vettel out, Schumacher-style, and Botty went on to win, then Mercedes drivers would be one and two.

Okay, that's a long shot.

:D

It would be funny :)

Today is the first race this season where I am watching on my own, my old lady and my youngest Son who still lives at home are both studying and no visitors (yet), the only downside is I can't crack a beer open yet, but I'll try and get one in before the end of the race or if Lewis does take Vettel out or he breakdowns

I have a feeling the team haven't told the Hulk, they'll wait until the pit stop, "Hulk, pit pit confirm, btw you have a 5 second penalty", reply "what, what! 5 seconds for what, fuck sake" :)
