Bernie fires first shot in 2020 Concorde agreement
Its being reported that Bernie plains to scrap the bonus payments system from 2020 (worth around £150 million to teams), this would have a big effect on the top teams like Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren and Williams who all have sweetheart deals that mean they receive large sums for just turning up. He has proposed a system in which the bonuses are stripped away and all teams receive a flat rate with additional prize money for its finishing position in the constructors' championship.
Christian Horner has already pored cold water on the idea saying the top teams will not except a drop in their money and that the best way for smaller teams to get more income is through F1's commercial chiefs securing more revenue for all teams, rather than taking it away from the big outfits. This will run on for sometime
