England Cricket 2014 (Test, ODI, T20)

Adam Milne. He's got raw pace but he's young. He will get better. He's putting it through at over 150kph.

Tino Best has raw pace. :D

I agree, mind, NZ look good. But I'd be backing Boult/Southee rather than anyone else.

tbh I think the WC is wide open. Of the top 8, I reckon only England and West Indies are off the pace.

Southee can heave the ball over the rope I suppose, as well as being a decent bowler. I'd go for the youngun though. He's been scaring the shit out of the Pakistani batsmen. Can't bat though.

There are good signs for England. Ali with both bat and ball. Morgan has potential to come good again. Bopara knows how to play the situation and won't panic. Root has the talent to succeed. Buttler, Hales are promising. Broad and Anderson to come back.

It's only really Cook who's the problem here...

How much tickets btw - i seem to remember seeing a pic of one for the last match on twitter for around £4 fifty.

We got the posh tickets which were a tenner. Penny of tickets at half that price or less.

I've honestly never been to a stadium with so much atmosphere and friendly banter. Brilliant day out.

Shit England performance though :)

So, are the management that were backing Cook a couple of days ago going to resign out of incompetence?

No, of course not.

Right decision, but made by a bunch of fucking muppets. From Giles Clarke to the new coach Moores, they are incompetent fools.

The banker Downton's the biggest fucking moron of the lot.

He seems like a decent man, but totally unfit for the job of a modern one day player, let alone captain. And yes, the selectors have to look at themselves. Who selects them?

I considered getting up early to watch a bit of play before leaving for work but decided it wasn't worth the bother. Rightly, apparently.

Nailed on draw after less than three days, in front of no people at all. Good for the batsmen's figures and not much else.

TMS style diversion from boring play: apparently Stokes bowled an over of spin. Has anyone ever switched back and forth in bowling styles with any success, as a regular thing rather than a desperate 'fuck it'?

And still no wicket for spin in the match.

Hate wickets like this, but England handling it well so far. Dig in, take the draw and move on.

After morning prayers on the Friday is the time you get crowds in the UAE, so may be some there tomorrow.

Or maybe they'll have given up on the game too.
