To be honest I'd be consider myself social liberal on personal freedoms and rights but more a green socialist on economic/environmental issues. I voted green in the EU elections.

I ticked right wing but very much of the libertarian pov.

And sorry if this has been asked but what is 'Pro-working class independence' ?

On the first page I defined it as;

To me that means to me that; I believe that we need to organise ourselves as a class in order to assert more control over our lives, that we need to be aiming to take over our workplaces and communities and run things in our own interest. This would of course lead to radical social change, but what exact form any new society would take or how we can get to that stage (other than self organisation) I don't know for sure. In practical terms it means that at the moment I support the creation of rooted and relevant militant and democratic unionism, and community solidarity and residents groups and argue for linking them together in federations at some point.

Several others who voted the same way, indicated agreement with this definition, others may not.

What does leftwing mean to you though? How do you define it? In what way are you left wing?;)
I would consider myself socialist but not necessarily left wing, although influenced a lot by left politics, ideas & writing!

Traditionally left wing would have found its derritive in post Hegelian philosophers: with left Young Hegellians and/or French Revolution.

I would not describe myself as left wing because in contemporary terms it is associated with New Left, Liberalism and more to the point the Heinz 57 of fanatical and arrogant sects with little knowledge or understanding of the people they are so concerned with emancipating!

Left wing
- vague label.

Right wing
- twats.

Liberal
- wealthy people who want to rob you, but ask you politely for your money.

Socialist
- a socialist.

Communist
- wrong when with an upper case C.

Anarchist
- Sensible people.

Pro-working class independence
- Correct people.

Green
- People who are right about the environment but haven't noticed class.

Racial nationalist
- idiots.

Civic nationalist
- tartan Tories.

Libertarian
- anarchists.

See, I know all that, but that doesn't really count as going into any depth. I feel like I'd need to properly understand the mechanics of all the different positions before I could really commit to one, ifkwim. I've read/studied marxism, and I've read quite a lot of anarchist literature - I'm quite drawn to those ideas.

When I was about 16/17 I would've called myself a nationalist, then at about 19/20 I was a socialist. Now I'd call myself an anarchist.

Aren't the SNP (civic nationalist) meant to be kind of left wing though? Compared to Nu labour/tories?

When you play it as an open chord it has a lot of the same notes as C, but since it's a minor and a 7th it sounds nothing like one.

Am7 and C agree on many of the big political ideals (except the controversial minor seventh which led to the split)

however in terms of both strategy and tactics they have very different ideas on how to get there

C is more your liberal NVDA, paper selling traditionalist and has even considered the formation of a vanguardist party to fight an electoral front

Am7 is rarely seen without a petrol bomb in their hands

Excuse my ignorance here, but can't you play the C major scale over C?

yes Dannys misunderstood the fundamental optimism of the C Major position and in attempting to inflict Am on top of it is obviously attempting an entryist strategy

in fact playing Am over Am is a relatively traditional approach - its when you play Am over A that you really start to fuck shit up

OK so I know these polls are semi regular on U75, but there hasn't been one for a while, and people and groups change over time.

Vote according to how you define your political labels - then if you want explain in a post, I'm interested in how people identify their own views - not how others define you. Of course it's not perfect, as I have defined the poll questions, but tough luck!

Poll to follow.

ETA: The poll is private, remember all definitions are yours! If you're a libertarian communist you decide whether you vote libertarian, communist or whatever.

individual!! Fighting against cunts but not adhering to any particular philosophy.

Oh, puleaze, the blue note is hardly the new thing, is it? It's not even a flattened 5th.
