It was too easy for Croatia. Swapped their wingers at half-time, kept them high up the pitch to keep Walker and Young pegged back and suddenly Engand had nowt going forward. After that they squeezed and squeezed til England eventually buckled.

Also thought Sterling wass immense in teh first half. As will no doubt be confirmed by the Croats attempting to mark him.

I don't get english TV but I think Bilic pointed out England's failure to respond to Croatia's changes

Yep, felt like they made the right response after a slow start then we failed to answer that. Can understand bit of reluctance when it had been working but soon clear it wasn't any more.

It was a great night out. The result was a shame but I didn't expect us to get that far anyway. It was great to see so many different people in the pub, young kids, old boys, mums, etc. Everyone was gutted at the end but no-one smashed anything up or got punchy. We lacked experience really. Could have put the game to bed in the first half. Oh well. Let's do it all again in 4 years time.

Modric says the Croatian team was motivated by the lack of respect from England pundits (Guardian), having only watched Linekar et al. discuss the match on the Tuesday only, I didn't really see any evidence of this? Was there some disrespectful ITV punditry that I missed?

Unless you count the mention that they reckoned the Croatian players would all tire first if the match dragged on which didn't seem to come to pass in the end!

By posting it on this post not attaching blame to you but it doesn't even appear to be comprehensive debates.

To me it appears like male posturing and it's childish and unnecessary from all involved.

I agree and it is sad, I honestly wouldn't post so much if there wasn't so much to respond to and posters aiming their anger at me for not supporting englund and getting quite personal with it! I don't believe i've got personal

I explained my ABE position on the other thread early on and have been called all kinds over and over, been told to fuck off and to stop posting, people saying I should be banned from certain threads and even posting explicit images trying to belittle and humiliate (which are still there)
Been called racist and xenophobic which is well well out of order
I don't like posturing either, I see it as not being silenced or being told where and what to post by a small handful of posters, it's still going on on the other thread
Going to do other stuff today and go outside too!
