Revising this to 'probably later today'Yeah. Dunno how long it'll take him but I'm moderately confident he'll throw in the towel in the next few days, unless something dramatic changes.
27 now gone, I think, I really can't keep up. Johnson has announced he refuses to quit.
Internationally, am I embarrassed; no. I did. Not, would not, could not vote for him or his party.
"It's the final countdown......"
Yeah, estimated at about 160 -170 in total. When the VoNC was being held a few weeks ago someone (might have been brogdale ) was talking about the "payroll vote", ie the number of MPs with government positions.
Can anyone remember what the number was, so we can see what proportion of them have now resigned?
Yeah, estimated at about 160 -170 in total.
it's 3 or 4 off the number that would have been needed to change their vote to tip the balance in the VONC though I thinkOK, so 27 resignations is about one sixth of them gone.

I guess he would rather die fighting than anything else.Difficult one. He is far too arrogant, pick headed and stubborn to resign on the other hand he wont want the shame of being voted out.

That's your opinion. He might consider it more humiliating. His behaviour suggests that his views on what is embarassing are not mainstream. They all resign though, or lose an election. Or die, but that hasn't happened for a bit. Resigning is less humiliating than being turfed out by your party, which is the other alternative, and the one he's staring down if he doesn't walk.
Not if you feel you should rule, and the people whose opinion you care about expect you to rule.Resigning is less humiliating than being turfed out by your party, which is the other alternative, and the one he's staring down if he doesn't walk.
I'm aware that I'm not inside his actual head (thank fuck).I don't claim to be able to think from his perspective, and tbh I doubt you can either.
Well, it's certainly fair to say that my idea of his perspective might be - is likely to be - some degree of wrong!I don't think it's fruitful to make predictions based on cartoon pop psychological assessments of his character either, so.
The cabinet are revolting.I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The maths says it's over for him though.
Yes but it's not significantly less fruitful than dour insistence that all parties will act rationally in the end and is more fun.I don't think it's fruitful to make predictions based on cartoon pop psychological assessments of his character either, so.
