Best cheese grater you've ever had?

Where to start? Slippers outside? What sort were they? I think Voley might be interested. He wears his to take his bin out. Did he wear them out only if he was going to Acton? Or is that some kind of code, like 'sent to Coventry'?

((((thread))))
There is nothing wrong with wearing slippers to take the bin out.

My cheese grater is unloved, as I only use it a few times a year. I've got a garlic grater (a ceramic thing), and a garlic shaver, and a tiny grater for nutmeg that also hardly ever gets used. :hmm:

I wear my slippers to take dog into garden for a wee, put bins out, get scooter in, bob round neighbours. I do NOT get them out on long tube journeys to Acton :D In his defence he was staying the night at a mates so had his slippers with him at the time. That's not *much* defence tbf.

What about weirdoes who don't HAVE slippers tho. Hmm? What about THEM :hmm:

Well see that's the thing - I ALWAYS take my shoes off at the cinema - I mean I do it without even thinking about it - and I also tell my children to take theirs off, too...y'know 'make yourselves comfortable...take off your shoes' but yesterday I had a sort of reverse lightbulb moment when it suddenly occurred to me that actually, not everyone takes their shoes off at the cinema :hmm: - and then like, omg, does ANYONE take their shoes off at the cinema? Is it JUST US?  A proper crisis of confidence :( although I didn't put my boots back on or anything

Oh :hmm: I've got a normal box grater, btw :p - and a microplane for zest and parmesan and garlic and that, which is fab.

That's really weird. The feet I mean, not the box grater/microplane combo, that's eminently sensible. Although I like the little hand zesters, they don't take the pith.

I bought my first slippers (since I wore them as a kid) a couple of years ago, so did without them for about 30 years. I just wore shoes in the house - all the time too, as my feet get cold.

It works well and comes with a lid so you can keep grated cheese fresh if you grate too much BUT I'm into the habit of storing it with the lid on the container and the grater over the top of the lid. What often happens in my rush for cheese is I forget the lid is in place and grate away, remove the grater and find about 40 nuggets of compressed grated cheese, useless for anything except snacky "cheese beads".

I've done this countless fucking times :(
