World Championship Darts. Weird, but strangely watchable

The crowd are bonkers and some of the players seem very eccentric.

But, for the first time, I can see how it might be a bit of a laugh.

Anyone been to one of these tournaments and is really all about the drinking?

Caught the last few legs of the final - looked well exciting - used to love darts in the 80s, might get back into the arrahs

that was a much better final than the PDC, which is curious cos most of the rest of this BDO tournie has been poosr standard in comparison imo.

Kist looks like he's a decemt player, with more to come as well. good on the lad.

Is the PDC on sky? I have heard it is of a better standard but is that really true?

Yes, PDC is the sky tournament and the standard of darts is hugely better tbf.

But this year's final b/w Hamilton and Lewis wasn't all that really, I enjoyed tonight's match much more.

Will try and give it a watch next time. Never had sky in any of my places you see.

It has more money in the PDC which attracts the better players, wouldn't be suprised if Kist goes over this year like Klassen did.

Also looks like Hankey might be going, but he might just be saying that because he's sulking!

I've been going to Lakeside for the past 8 years and it's just aces! There is a big focus on the booze (and pies!) and a lot of it is about enjoying the crowd and the atmosphere rather than the darts sometimes!! :D
It's also fab because you often get a chance to chat with the players and the wives, most are really lovely and humble - Love love love it!!!

I was there yesterday and we had a very boozey one, I'm just starting to feel ok now though!
