Wimbledon 2021

I see Piers Morgan has been predictably busy condemning Raducanu for withdrawing. This is the same Piers Morgan who stormed out of his job on GMB after getting pwned by the weather guy

Typical PM bollocks. McEnroe didn't even say or suggest she 'quit after losing', but that maybe the experience was overwhelming for her.

Fuck sake, didn’t realise I was on bbc2, tho it explains why Federer was playing Sonego again. Managed to turn over to the Aussies now.

Such an advantage for Barty, having that extra six rest after her match. It’s another reason Tomljanovic v Raducanu shouldn’t have been played at that time.

We ask every year: will the Great Roger Federer be back at his favourite tournament aged 40, nearly 41? After coming back from knee surgery, his weary, aged body is showing signs of slowing down. Maybe more fitness work and matches under his belt will motivate him to not hang up his court shoes. Would be a shame to bow out now after a 6-0 final set defeat anyway.

Must admit I felt a bit sad seeing him get bagelled in the final set. Hurkacz played brilliantly, though.

Bit of a one-sided men's final so far.

My OH has already said 'Well I hope the Italians play like this tonight!'.

Berrettini really needs to stop giving the donkey cheese thief three or four game leads
He does indeed. Feel he was very lucky in the first set.

Castle's incessant wittering and celeb spotting is annoying, as always.

Felt reasonably comfortable for Djokovic in the end. The fact he can return a decent number of Berrettini's first serves must be the biggest difference for Berrettini compared to previous rounds. Not quite a classic, but a solid win.

He's never going to be loved, Djokovic. I almost feel sorry for him about that. Almost.

He's a miserable sod and an angry bastard is Novak. So am I so I warm to him.

He should have been banned for at least a year after his covidfest tournament. The annoyingly good fucker.

Berettini has improved no end in the last year or two. I remember his horrendous game v Federer s couple of years ago! Despite the errors he made some really good shots today.

A shame Djokovic didn't do The Roar!

amazing run, winning queens then this.

He definitely has the game to win Wimbledon, doesn't he? Today, though, despite that shaky end to the first set, it felt like Djokovic had one more gear to go into if necessary, but it was never quite necessary. His returning is different class.

No doubt, he’s got much more range to his game in the last couple of years.

Djokovic played within himself, making Berrettini play an extra shot or three, confident he’d make a mistake in one of them.

Those last two sets were very good tho. That return from Djokovic was just phenomenal, one of those even the biggest ABD’s couldn’t help but applaud.
