10% social housing in Hallam...
OH YES!!!!!!10% social housing in Hallam...
10% social housing in Hallam...
ITn almost makes me want to move to Sheffield, just to kick start the 'clegg out' campaign
At least, the parliamentary Lib-Dem party have. I don't really agree with Lib-Dem politics in general, but I know plenty of grass-roots Lib-Dems who're as disgusted as anyone else at what Clegg and Co are doing.Lib-Dems have shown there true colours over the past 6 month's..
So it's fortunate that most of the Lib-Dem MPs, even those with ministerial positions, have no real power.they are not fit to be in office...
...they will get a hiding at the next local elections, no matter if it was the monster looney party or green peace, lib-dems would have been more than happy to have shared power, they have no principles.
Clegg is a yes man, he is a liar and he has ruined his party just to get there 5 years of fame.
No posts from moon for about a day now.
What are the odds he ends up with a nice safe tory seat somewhere in the Home Counties?
Utter wanker.

Maybe he's been cut!
yup, and 9/10s of the "Why the Lib Dems are great" boils down to "Err, no, the lib dems are shit, actually!"Hmmmm.

says it all really , the fuckers
It'd hardly be surprising if he "went Tory", given that he and the Orange Book mob favour policies that are crypto-Tory anyway.
Mind you, a safe Surrey Tory seat would be a nice pay-off for him, for the amount of arse-licking and fig-leafing he's done in the past five months, let alone the amount he'll do before the next election.
His programming is probably being updated at ConDembot central.

actually, being grudgingly and reluctantly fair-minded, that goes for me too. I've known - still do - a lot of pretty decent LDers at the grassroots, some with surprisdingly progressive politics, even today. They're truly devastated by all of thisAt least, the parliamentary Lib-Dem party have. I don't really agree with Lib-Dem politics in general, but I know plenty of grass-roots Lib-Dems who're as disgusted as anyone else at what Clegg and Co are doing.
The Wrong people, according to anyone with a drop of progressive blood in them! (HINT:that means not you). If these cuts were fair, it would be done by higher top-rate income tax, corporate taxes, bank taxes and CGT. Instead, it's being done by ordinary workers. Oh, and your hero, the Chancellor, is giving those poor persecuted banks a £19 BILLION tax break - paid for yet again by the poorest. In addition to the £120 Billion you're doing nothing about!
VP running up the red flag? No - you running up the blue one.......
As you know perfectly well, Labour's bank levy would have bigger, they already had the 50% income tax in place, you bottled it on total defence cuts - SURPRISE! - just as you bottled it on the CGT rise (The whole point was to raise it to 40%, to prevent people using the CGT as a tax avoidance scam, and two people on £22.1k each, in the south east of England, does NOT constitute 'higher earners'; in fact, one person on £44k doesn't add up to that much, in London anyway.People are being hit accross the board, banks are allready having a levy placed on them, and CGT has allready gone up
Bank Levy £8.3Bn
Rise in CGT
50% rate on tax
Hitting high earners on > £44K by removing child benefits
Reducing Defense spending
In today's session on the defense review it emerges the Lib Dems have won the case on trident which won't be renewed in this parliment.
Are you serious?
So trident won't be replaced with a like for like system; excellent news.
Perhaps the money saved could be pumped into a social housing build programme.
The social housing budget in England is to be cut by more than 50% in the Spending Review, the BBC understands.
Despite the cuts, ministers are likely to set a target of building 150,000 affordable homes, changing the way councils charge rent to finance them.
Saying no to the like-for-like replacement of the Trident nuclear weapons system, which could cost £100 billion. We will hold a full defence review to establish the best alternative for Britain’s future security.
We will strive for global nuclear disarmament, showing leadership by committing not to replace the Trident nuclear weapons system on a like-for-like basis
So trident won't be replaced with a like for like system; excellent news.
