credit where it's due?
what, credit a speech, a press release, and a bit of spin? When the truth is we'll be lucky to get in the south east - where the housing shortage crisis is at its' most acute - a whopping one new house per week?
Yeah right!:facepalm:
You really are so tragically desperate...and so very shit at this.:D

aren't you suppose to judge a government after a parliamentary term has expired?

you've got the horse before the cart, there, streat

yeh. let's examine that. so people shouldn't have judged hitler till, what, 1938? why shouldn't you judge a government on its record to date and its proclaimed plans - there's no need to wait until the next set of elections.

Except I haven't- it's more that you have. Stunell made an extremely, wildly optimistic claim which the facts on the ground flatly contradict - and you sought to claim this as a major acheivement, and I quote;
credit where it's due?
Except NO credit is due yet, for precisely the reasons you outlined in your following posts -we are barely into the start of this parliament and (if they survive) govt. all you have there is a speech - big deal! - which you tried to puff up as some sort of 'achievement'; It isn't.

1945. or possibly 46, once the dust had settled and everyone had calmed down a bit.

It was too early to tell before that.

You judge their ability to fulfill their manifesto at the end of a parliament. Judging on policy is a different story. It's multi-layered. You don't just judge a policy by results, you judge it by how fit for purpose its' design is.
And, to be frank, a policy that out-performs the previous Labour and Tory administrations shouldn't be judged as anything but failure unless it is designed to not only exceed previous build volume, but to actually exceed the minimum necessary build quantity to actually hold the total social housing stock in equilibrium, rather than it being constantly eroded through Right to Buy.

A lot of your most loyal party members are becoming extremely dissilusioned btw. Just seen another example of it now!
