Lol! At OU's tagline!

Tonight is individual fish pies - am using some well fanci alaskan salmon and king prawns - should I put anything else in - do you think it could handle a bit of broccoli for example?

There will also be wine and mashed potatoes I suspect. Yom.
Broccoli should be ok, I put peas in mine last week :)

I quite fancy lasagne tonight actually, but not sure I can be arsed to make it :(

Not sure - I'd use em by the weekend though. Maybe when they start to smell different?
But then it's too late!
Yeah, I was thinking the weekend would be a safe bet

So all you are saying, is give peas a chance? :D

Ooh, it's all the rage now!
I think I'm gonna have chops again and lots of red wine, cos I'm in a filthy mood

well I was looking through my cut out recipes the other night and found that I'd cut it out too :D

The aubergine one is nice too if you got it from the same cut-out as me:)

that bean and bacon gratin thing with fresh bread and broccoli

What bean and bacon gratin thing? Sounds lush! Have also purloined a load of stationary today to sort out my cut out recipes

oh we had the best tea last nite, lamb kafta, chicken kebabs, rice with roasted almonds, fatoosh salad, lentil soup and fresh made pitas. it was wonderful

gratin of beans and bacon:
1 large thickly sliced onion
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
6 slices smoked bacon/pancetta
2 (400 g) cans haricot beans
200 g creme fraiche
3 tablespoons grated fresh parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 200°C.
pour oil into a shallow pan and cook the onions till soft and golden.
stir thyme into the onions and cut bacon into short pieces and add to the pan, stirring occasionally until pale gold and fragrant.
drain the beans and rinse under cold water.
tip into the onion mix and add the creme fraiche and stir till bubbling.
check the seasoning, you will probably need both salt and pepper.
transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle parmesan over the top. Bake for approximately 30 mins or until top is crisp and the sauce is bubbling around the edges.

i am having beetroot soup with feta. unless my cold gets worse and i can't be bothered to cook food i can't taste, in which case- crumpets with peanut butter.

eta: oh man that gratin sounds numnumnum.

Eat the bangers - I wouldn't leave them much longer than today. :(
They'll be green in the morning!!!

LOL!!

The Asda in Clapham Junction still has an aisle named "Foreign Food" :D
I once went to a supermarket in Wales that had an ethnic food section - it had just rice and pasta in it

dunno. really fancied a takeaway but its cold wet and both my housemates are out so would have to take the kids with me.

it may be oat cakes and onion jam again :(
