If I put fresh cream on a cake does it have to be kept in the fridge?

I know the answer is probably yes, but not sure I fancy cold cake

How quickly are you going to eat it? Even if it goes sour, it's only a matter of taste :)

My dinner may have been cholesterolopolis but my god it was lush

I'm not keen on the sausages as they are but out of their skins and wrapped in puff pastry they were heavenly

There's a tomato, onion, pepper and bean stew bubbling away in the kitchen, waiting to have some grilled halloumi slapped on the top, and crusty bread on the side.

*droooool*
Halloumi

It's one of the things that's been banished from my shopping list due to being too skint :(

Few days at least, there's only two of us :)

Hmmm - what about eating the first bit at room temp then putting the rest in the fridge. When you want more, take it out the fridge, cut off the portions you want and put the main cake back in the fridge - eat required portions when they have reached room temp. Repeat until all the cake is gone.

You don't have to thank me :)

:D that's probably the best bet... but when I want cake not sure I can wait for it to get to room temp

Ta ;)

That's the trouble - you do cake, cake does you :(

I made my own pizza dough, what had spanish paprika mixed in with it.

The toppings were: Mushrooms, Anchovies, Chorizo, Sweetcorn. And I stuffed the crust with Mozzarella as well.

we had poppadums and chutneys, chickpea and spinach balti, chicken and red onion kebabs (not sure what the marinade was but it was lush. with pilau rice (which was like bricks :()

I made soup that had onion, celery, carrot, potato and sweet potato in. Made with home-made chicken stock. Served with lots of parmesan and toasted baguette slices. It was way, way nice.

Roast pork, homemade apple sauce, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, yorkshires, stuffing, gravy, carrots, home grown ps brocolli rhubarb crumble, custard :)

A roast Madz? Surely not! :p

In our continuing quest to use up all the freezer/cupboard supplies* and spend the absolute minimum on food, tonights menu is a tiny portion of roast veg soup, tinned salmon & broccoli vol-au-vents and salad...followed by tinned peaches and ice cream.

*I've ordered a new bed base from Ikea and had a gas bill and leccy bill both arrive together, so we're skint till the 1st week of Feb...plus I'm aiming to have the freezer completely empty so that I can defrost it, give it a good clean and then start refilling it all over again  :D )

Baked potatoes with cheese and coleslaw, salad, chicken drumsticks and possibly some waldorf salad on the side.

The roast can wait till tomorrow. I can't be bothered to cook. :)

Change of plan...suddenly occurred to me that after croissants for breakfast and sausage rolls for lunch, the kids might not really be in the mood for vol-au-vents.... :D

So maybe a seafood pasta thing with broccoli, or possibly fishfingers, oven chips, broccoli and peas.

Tonite Teresa's making her famous chicken and sausage casserole. It's a whole chicken cut up into pieces with the skin plus a bunch of italian sweet sausages all smothered in lemon and sage and thyme. Everything is floating in this wonderful rich broth made of chicken fat and pork fat and garlic....mmmm

and we're having brussel sprouts on the side mmmmmm

i can't wait for tea, 7 more hours

plus there are two HUGE football games on the telly :)
