Well I'm gonna give it a go cos I spent a nice couple of hours last night, surrounde by recipe books, planning a whole month's food. That's 30 different dishes. So I went and spent about £130 on food today. Had to clear a new shelf for it. Tonight is smoked haddock with flageolet beans and mustard with spinach.

Wow! That's pretty organised. I really need to do something similar (maybe for a week ahead though), because I always seem to have too much stuff. Doesn't help that I have a fear of running out of anything.

Tonight I'm at work so it's reheated spicy chickpeas - again.

All cooking now...

Fondue served with:

Freshly baked baguettes
Chunks of red pepper
Herby chipolata's
Silverskin onions

mmmmm fondue :)

bees is in the kitchen as I type - though not with tortillas cos he forgot about them  :D

reckon I'll be having pasta, bacon, cream, parmesan, peas again cos it's nice and quick and I'm still at work at 7:30pm

I had a chilli.

I had my tea really early tonight. at 5pm.

I am subsequently in my pyjamas already.

I am not even tired.

I found some veggie curry in the freezer. Which was a total surprise as I'm sure you can guess  So I'm having that. And two choccy brownies, and probably half a family bar of dark choccy :)

How come you're so bloody skinny then?

*jealous*

I have numerous chapattis left over from last night - will they do instead??

*passes chapattis to aqua*

No, i dont want them back :) ;)

I had to scrap the aubergine and goat's cheese cos I realised that it required my non-functioning grill, so now it bulgar wheat with aubergines and mint

Dead easy. Get some chapatti flour, add a bit of oil, add water until it's kneadable*, leave for 10 mins, then roll into golfball sized pieces, roll out with rolly pin into flat thin pancake things. Cook in a hot frying pan, no oil, turn over once they start to bubble and get brown spots. Spread with LOADS of BUTTER :)

*don't add too much water, like i did though or you end up with millions of them  @ self

Oh don't ask me such awkward questions!! 2 cups of flour and a tsp of oil i think  I've never used milk in mine, but i spose that would be OK

If they go wrong it's not my fault :p

If you deep fry them they become Puri

e2a: shall I bring some flour on Saturday and teach you how to cook chapattis? I can do Onion Bhajis too but don't have any gram flour at the mo'

gah make up your minds you 2! if you use milk do you also use oil?
it depends....some just add the water/milk and then grease the griddle and some just mix the oil into the dough and use a dry griddle :)

geez  :p

whats jeez about that? I've never made them before!

Its not like I'm asking for specific amounts to the gram is it

here you bleedin' go   :D

INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup hot water or as needed

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour and salt. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the olive oil and enough water to make a soft dough that is elastic but not sticky. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth. Divide into 10 parts, or less if you want bigger breads. Roll each piece into a ball. Let rest for a few minutes.

Heat a skillet over medium heat until hot, and grease lightly. On a lightly floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out the balls of dough until very thin like a tortilla. When the pan starts smoking, put a chapati on it. Cook until the underside has brown spots, about 30 seconds, then flip and cook on the other side. Continue with remaining dough.
