Well I'm gonna give it a go cos I spent a nice couple of hours last night, surrounde by recipe books, planning a whole month's food. That's 30 different dishes.
That's incredible OU! I can't even plan what i'm going to have for me next meal.

30 days worth! ....wow!

had a posh ready meal my parents had going, mushroom stroganoff or some such.

it just reminded me why i always like to make something fresh, even if it is just the humble but threadworthy MASH.

So I went and spent about £130 on food today. Had to clear a new shelf for it. Tonight is smoked haddock with flageolet beans and mustard with spinach.
Fair play to you :) I hope you tell us what's on the menu, might give us some inspiration (well me anyway)... I need to make some new things.

I had not very nice bombay potatoes out of a tin (from my secret can't-be-arsed-going-shopping stash) :(

But I made chapattis to go with it. I put too much water in the flour so had to add more flour and ended up with 12 of them :)

I'll be sure to let you know. It's a first for me. Don't go thinking I do it every month. It's also a rather fluid plan that allows for spontaneity - a lot of the stuff I've bought and will buy can be used for other stuff. I needed to write it down though, cos recently I've been spotting recipes and getting the ingredients for them, then forgetting what I bought them for the following week. I've still got some green pepper corns that I can't figure out what were for.

Sounds like a good idea to be honest - less food wastage :) The most I've ever planned is a weeks worth of meals (and that included having leftovers the following night on some nights!).

I dont' think i even have the culinary discipline to plan three straight nights worth of meals :p

tonight bees has very very kindly offered to cook a chilli

which suits me perfectly  I love his chilli's

Even though we've got stuff in the fridge that needs eating, I can't resist making spag bol after all the talk there's been about it recently. Yum yum, haven't had a spag for ages.

For me it's just that impromptu stuff happens and the meal you planned to cook doesn't happen, so more food gets wasted when I plan ahead than when I don't.

Anyway, tonight a good bit of winter stodge:

sausage, mash, some buttery savoy cabbage.

Followed by apple crumble with cinnamon and sultanas, and some cream.

Well, the teenager has a friend for tea who doesn't eat anything except pizza by all accounts.  So they are having pizza and I'll have something on toast again.

I was going to make a chicken curry but that will have to wait till tomorrow. :(

you could still make it, it'll taste great by tomorrow  and then you don't have to cook :D

Ooh, apple crumble. I haven't made one of them in a while. Might do one tonight :)

Apparantly there is a national shortage of cooking apples. I've got about 8 at home, wondering if I should get them on ebay :D

I found some veggie curry in the freezer. Which was a total surprise as I'm sure you can guess  So I'm having that. And two choccy brownies, and probably half a family bar of dark choccy :)

Got the ingredients for a special dinner to fix my poorly wife.
Surprise though so will not be posting details till tomorrow.

:)

yea i agree....plus I have to wait until the last minute to see what I feel like eating. for example, when i get up in the morning i may feel like roast beef & mash for tea but at 4pm I may feel like pizza  :p

last nite we had beef 'n bean burritoes along w/ spanish rice and a nice salad with basalmic vinagrette (yes, that I made)

tonite i'm on me own for tea so i don't know what i want yet. probably get take out cause i'm sick of cooking :)

I was hoping you weren't going to say (even though I sneaked a look in here).
I like surprises. :)

I think i'm going to make chicken salad on a bagel. This is basically chopped up chix breast meat with mayo and celery and salt/pepper. Delish. Mmmm

and maybe some soup and crisps (i.e. potatoe chips)
