Tell me about it, I've gotten worser and worser as the days gone on, and I've lost me voice. I sound like a mouse one minute (squeak squeak) and then like a bloody goose (ARRRkkkkk) :( And I'm all hot and freezing cold all at the same time. But I'm starving so I'm having a ready meal...cod mornay and I'll add the left over mash from a couple of days ago...stodgy, warming and hopefully comforting

Chicken, rosemary and garlic potatoes, carrots and bearnaise sauce, leftovers from a staff thing on Saturday. mmmmmmm...

I've lost my cooking mojo  Not mad hungry like usual, and not in the least bit inspired to cook. We had takeaway curry last night (again) which was tasty but not exactly healthy. I just can't be arsed!

bollocks I forgot to take the prawns out of the freezer

tonight should be something with king prawns  but it'll have to be whatever is in the fridge/freezer instead

I think most people are sickening for something at the moment cos so many people are losing their cooking mojo. There's a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts here today and I don't fancy any of them. :(

*sneeze*
*faint cough*
*blows snoozle*

It might be spag bol tonight but then again it might be leftover chicken. Last night was the roast chicken with green beans and jacket spud topped with blue cheese. But then again it might be a packet of cough sweets, some fresh honey and lemon and an early night.

i made a veggie pad thai last night, boyf hated it....pretended he didn't, but a half-eaten dinner is a sure sign that he doesn't like something

why are men so fucking unadventurous with food? or is it just that i happen to go out with the one man who doesn't like new kinds of food?

we went to a lovely chinese restaurant the other week, not your msg-laden cantonese gak, but proper chinese food and he didn't like that either. i loved it, but we won't go again because he wasn't keen and he'll make a fuss.

aaarrrrrggghhhhhhhh!

yeah, food has been an issue for a while i have to say :D

nothing major, but i like to cook spicy/hot stuff on occasion - he rarely likes it unless it's takeaway from the curry house or a chilli con carne.

At college tonight, so won't get home til gone 9... might get fish and chips on the way home - not had chippy chips for months  :D

lasagne

now theres something I've not had in ages  *adds it to the menu for this week*

we're having chilli again. it was fab when we had it last week. i can't be arsed to make guacamole again though. it was lush, but i was the only one who ate it :D

I'm like you this week - really can't be bothered to cook anything. :(

Might do baked potatoes or spag bol tonight.

I always use king prawns straight from the freezer mate - it's fine to do as long as they're cooked through.

I've taken a portion of saussie and bean stew out of the freezer and will be having it with a fuckload of pesto pasta cos I'm starving already and its only 11am

Me too!

It's a horrible cold foggy grey day outside and our boiler's leaking, so I've turned it off till the landlord sends the plumber round (tomorrow) which means that we've not got any heating either, so I think my mind just naturally leads me to conclude that I need to eat lots of food. :D

Now! :D

I'm taking the small boy to see Tintin at the theatre tonight though, which means we've got to eat about 5.30 (early for us!) so I've worked out that it'd be sensible for me to have my lunch (carrot and coriander soup with a roll which I'll warm up) fairly soon..... ;) ...so hopefully that'll sort me out!

they're not, they're uncooked ones

The raw ones I get from Tesco (which I bulk buy every six months or so when they're on BOGOF/half price  ....I bought ten packets the other week :D ) are 'best cooked from frozen' which always surprises me, but is very convenient tbf!

But yeah - not normally the done thing - how about sticking them in a bowl of cold water as soon as you get home (and keep changing it, so they don't just end up sitting in freezing water :D )?

Shouldn't take too long to defrost 'em that way.

My parents are away, so to aviod the inevatalbe erge for a house party, I think'll be pizza and jack daniels.....

I don't know what's wrong with you lot, this is my favourite time of year for cooking. Nights are drawing in, it's time to do lovely rich casseroles and stews. Root veg is in season for roasting and mashing, shellfish are at their peak and beautiful on their own or with pasta. It's the time for comfort food, for lentils and beans and hearty good food.

Come on guys, this is a wonderful time to be a cook.

(If I wasn't getting home at gone 9pm then maybe I'd cook something... but putting on a casserole or stew would mean not eating til 11pm
