god I wish it would be here tonight :(

I really do want to not have to cook though  I have some veggies in the kitchen but theyre all past their best so I might soup them

and have toast with boursin on with the soup

or i might just ring the take away

Home cooking always tastes better, aqua. Go on love, you can do it :)

On another note, perhaps the next urban meet up should involve hiring an upstairs room in a real-ale pub with everyone bringing their speciality dish for us all to try . . . just an idea, d'ya like?

the last brum meet lots of people brought food to eat :) our pub doesn't do food but you can bring whatever you want in it and they provide the plates and cutlery :)

leftover spahgetti & meatballs.....I think i made enough to last a week

that reminds me, i have to freeze some of it....:)

moomoo, i'd like you to know that I made the meatballs meself from scratch....but the sauce was out of a jar

Have the takeaway Aqua - you're still hungover = poorly. And I had a good day and want to celebrate but am skint, so you can do it for me :)

I are having cottage pie which I'm going to make in a minute, loads of veggies, some stuffing (cos I fancy it) followed by strawberry cheesecake mmmmmm

They prolly won't let us back though, we made a mess :(

They have a cheese night though

they will let us back baldrick didn't get any comments when she went back

At least she didn't get the sack for having a load of weird pissed-up friends from teh internets.

Seriously though, you'd be hard pushed to find a better venue for a meet, so I'm glad we'll be allowed back :)

We went out in driving wind and rain last night for our all you can eat chinese......as usual they attempted to clear our plates away several times before we'd actually finished ;) but we resisted and definitely got our money's worth.... :p but it's odd with chinese, I was craving that meal for the entire two weeks that we were planning it  but as soon as I came out, said to my bezzer that having crammed shitloads into my mouth, there was now literally nothing in the world I wanted less than a chinese!

So we've plumped for a Gourmet Burger next time.... :D

Anyway, tonight was a haddock, tomato, spinach and chickpea coconut curry with basmati and loads of coriander for us and homemade lemony/herby crumbed haddock fingers with homemade oven chips & broccolli for the kids.

(I also made a roast pepper/red onion/tomato and basil soup to do us for lunches for the next couple of days so it was a productive arvo in the kitchen!)

They've got raspberry trifles for pud and I'm having tea and Maya Gold.

I'm planning food for the rest of the week now :D my fridge looks so sad :D

is that a made up curry sheo? or following and recipe? never made a fish curry and that just made me say "ooooooooo that sounds good" :D

Change of plans here - Mr K is doing tea as I have a banging headache and feel like shit  So probably oven food or beans on toast, hooray :)

I must say I liked your roast-in-the-oven/go to the pub recipe, Mrs Miggins. Especially the three hours @pub part, though I'm not sure I'd be in a fit state to roast potatoes whilst sloshed :)
We are old hands....;)

Made up!

Very quick to cook too....

I fried a bit of onion (do it till it's as you like it), added some garam masala and half a handful of chopped fresh skinned tomatoes and fried until the spices were cooked out, added some creamed coconut (prob a quarter of a block or so) and a little water with a bit of veg stock powder and boiled it down a bit, then added a paste mix (loads of coriander stalks/garlic/ginger/lemon juice/more onion blitzed together), some chopped chilli, a handful of chickpeas, a couple of large handfulls of spinach, another half handful of chopped tomato and the haddock which I'd cut into inch-ish cubes and then cooked it on a high temp for 4 or 5 minutes.

You'll need to add more liquid (just add it if and when you reckon it needs it iykwim...to the consistency you desire!)...and I added a bit of double cream towards the end too, just cos I had some to use up.... ;) :D

You might want some salt too, depending on how much stock powder you use.

Stick it on top of rice, with lots of coriander leaf over the top.
