Couple of questions from a nosy foreigner, if you don't mind my asking.

1. So tea is your evening meal, then? What we call dinner or supper?
2. Is pudding a generic word for dessert?
3. Not a question - dayum, I'm impressed with all the elaborate meals you all make!

Fucking sausages again

pork pork pork and more pork in this house, no wonder I never get Dt's, I'm a walking piece of thiamine.

oh yes! I foresee some pumpkin recipes being needed - I have TWO pumpkins to carve!!!

yeee-ha :D I love hallowe'en - next - costume making!!! hooray :)

(sorry, I seem to be over-excitable today!)

1. Not always, it can depend on what part of the country you're from etc, it's dinner in my house for instance !
2. Yes

Sainsburys 'Taste the difference' potato croquettes with gruyere and rosemary, which I fucking LOVE.

Omg!!!! They are the dogs nuts aren't they? Fucking lushious...nom nom nom :D and a nom for good measure :D

I tried swordfish for the first time tonight, loved the wine and shallot butter sauce I did with it but not so sure about the fish part tbh

Shopping arrives today so something nice I think.
Possibly pasta as we have some that needs using up
Red wine to accompany

The remains of last night's takeaway curry for me ce soir

I'll cook summat nice tomorrow - maybe the Nigel Slater chicken and black eyed bean thing that was in the paper at the weekend.

i don't know what i'm havin' tonite....i may pick up a rotiserie bbq chicken with some mash/gravy and macaroni 'n cheese

mmm...comfort food :)

awww love - just order a takeaway, get a bottle of wine, get a hot bath and get into your jammies

the world always looks better then

Tonight other ther half is taking me Jonathan's in Maidenhead for my Birthday meal.

I am promised excellent Italian food! Possibly including mussels

Toulouse sausages and somefink. That'll teach me to buy lots of sausages from Asda when they're on offer and we've no room in the freezer  :D

what are toulouse sausages? mmmmm, sausages :D

yeah, takeaway it is. haven't done me xmas cake yet because the pub distracted me from shopping on saturday  however, i've only got to buy a mixing bowl now and a bit more fruit and we are go....

Puy lentils! Toulouse sausages go very well with puy lentils.

Baldrick, they're stinky French style sausages with masses of garlic that repeat on you for days after. :D

That's an idea and a half if I can get Flashy to agree to lentils. I can squish the lentils round in the sausage juices with some other bits and pieces. Hmmm.

dunno. am off work sick with general wrongness so something that will make me feel happy i think. maybe sausages, sweet potato mash and veg. then smoothies for the vitamins, hot warm bath with a lush bath bomb for the cheeryness, then clean pjs and bedsheets for the luxury

That sounds like a winning plan for any day, feyr :)

Not sure what we're having tonight...I might make a potato and onion tart...then again, I might not. Will see how I feel once I've made a dent in the laundry mountain

A strange combo for me but having hallumi griddled with salad and pita bread with chips cos I fancy them both. Also have a fruit salad for afters.

Chip shop tonight (in v lazy mode). Fishcake cob (roll) with some peas and a few chips on it. Dunked in red sauce naturally. Food of kings (and queens).

A bizarre version of Nigel Slater's chorizo & chickpea stew made with merguez sausages (cos I don't eat pork) and cannellini beans (cos I'm not a huge fan of chickpeas) and with squash and wine in as well because they needed using up. First time I'm making this mash-up version - if it fails I shall have a boiled egg and soldiers :)
