What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Lazy night. Pie (Charlie Brigham's steak and ale) with mash and veg. Even half tempted by the chippy, swapping chips and mushy peas in for the only bits I'd be preparing.

On the plus side, I've caught up on last night's washing up. I can confidently say that char sui pork can make quite a sticky mess.

FAO: Badgers. I bought three pots of Marmite in Tesco today. If you bought two you got one free. I demand your lifelong respect for this.

May I also add sweetcorn onto the pizza prohibited list? Pineapple's as bad as it gets, but I don't want little sweet corn nuggets on my cheese either.

This is the kind of agreement we come to suburban for.

Down with sweet things on pizza in general. It's not so long ago that a local deep pan pizzeria was offering a garlic, creamy sauced base with sliced bananas. The filthy perverts.

Banana on pizza WTF I don't even........ I can do white/non-tomato sauce very occasionally, but fruit? On a pizza? Might as well put fokken prunes and raisins on it.

Yellow courgettes perhaps, but the pizza world's not overfilling with them as far as I can tell.

Anyway, the oven's on and the pies are dithering on the side, awaiting the arrival of the better half. I think it's chips tonight, I hope it's chips.

I found this very thing last week too :)

It brought great joy into my yeasty life and Marmite stock is back above 3 litres again :)

Speaking of prunes, a mate of mine had the misfortune not to know that prunes are laxatives. He bought a pint of bloody prune juice and downed it at work  cue hours on the loo, apparently he had to get off the tube three times before he finally made it home!

Charlie Brigham is a cheating bastard!

It wasn't a pie; it was a pie lid on top of a stew-filled ramekin. And it was puff pastry as well. It did taste alright mind.

Takeaway of some kind tonight. It's middle boy's birthday and we're going to see Harry Potter and have a takeaway afterwards. I suspect he'll want KFC :hmm:

I'm sure it's lovely Kanda, but it sounds like one of those countryside clothing brochures that falls out of the Sunday supplements, specialising in comfortable brown shoes and check shirts.

haha!

Supposed to be better than Goucho etc for steaks. We'll see...

The steaks sound bloody good admittedly. Bone marrow and mushrooms could be a win too. A little rich for my blood, but let us know how you get on.

Today I have mince and I am prevaricating between cottage pie, meatballs or a bolognese. Will worry about it later.
