What's currently good on the BBC iPlayer?

Given how certain DM tracks instantly take me back to pivotal moments in my life, I might just watch that.

Thanks 👍
I ran away from home aged 13 or 14 to go to a Depeche Mode gig. Stood outside the side doors of Manchester Apollo listening.

Finally saw them live a few years ago at Manchester Arena, in 2017(?).

And saw them again a couple of weeks ago in Bordeaux.

But I'm always taken back to to that gig I went to but wasn't quite at.

Just watched the first The Sixth Commandment.
Utterly captivating.

True crime story about Timothy Spall as a closeted University lecturer and lay preacher who gets taken in by one of his students

I'm going to watch that tonight now OH has been offered an extra shift at work tonight and won't be here (he's not so much into the true crime dramatisation stuff, no matter how good Timothy Spall is!)

When I saw the trailer for it I feel sure I've seen it before, but it says it's a new BBC drama - I think they are all starting to run into one at this point, or I just know enough about the case due to documentaries etc. that it all seems that familiar.

I'm sure it will be good though, Spall will be excellent in that role I am certain.

Thought it was really good, gripping story, great acting, however even though i think the guy was guilty im suprised he was convicted of the murder on the evidence presented at court.

He's already had two appeals turned down claiming mis-direction of the jury by the judge, and thirty plus years seemed quite harsh.

There's a great documentary about Little Richard- the King and Queen of Rock n' Roll. Interesting (and sad) to see how conflicted he was between his sexuality and his religious beliefs. The archive footage of him performing is mesmerising- so much natural charisma.

This was very good.

Surprised the case didn't get more noticed at the time.

Well....no need to watch that anymore is there 🙄🤣

There's no need to watch any drama based on real life events then, is there, given that lots of people are aware of what happened.

I knew about the case before this, you can't really complain about spoilers about something that actually happened.

BTW the Titanic sank and Apollo 13 made it back to earth with no loss of life.

Well because you know of course it's common knowledge for everyone else. I'm not being an ass, I just hate it when that happens 👍

dunno - As well as the diary entries and "rap" saying "Lets kill timothy spall! Lol! I love killing!!" - he pretty much convicted himself with the over erudite bollocks he came out with in court in trying to convince the jury of his innocnece but effectively came accross as "i am totally a full on utterly deciptful, caculating psychopath" . Also he was clearly a danger and would have carried on if he hadnt been stopped. Fuck him with nobs on tbh.

Wolf is excellent. Quite bizarre, scary and funny as well. I thought it was a cross between clockwork orange and funny games. I later read The Guardian which said a cross between clockwork orange and Wallace and Gromit 🤣🤣. Very recommended.

I watched the first one of these last night. I'm undecided whether to carry on or not. The 'coming up' bit at the end clearly shows that it's gonna get totally bonkers but I get the sense that it's likely to feature some hideous violence and I've no tolerance for that.....

I am twenty minutes into E1 of Wolf.

It's fucking terrible so far. Appalling script, badly acted, cliched drivel. Something fucking bonkers better happen soon.
