What's currently good on the BBC iPlayer?

Spent most of the day in bed, hungover and dejected, and thought about putting an old favourite on (nearly went with Miranda!) but opted for Alma's Not Normal as I liked Sophie Willan on Taskmaster, and was glad that I did.

There are two series (of six), the first is the best as it's much more of a sitcom, the second is more comedy-drama. The ages of the main characters don't make sense, but you'll get over it.
The first ep of the first series is a classic pilot collection of zingers and scenes - feng suey etc - but I definitely continued to enjoy it as the drama element expanded. Good stuff!

I just binge watched Lucan on iplayer (first episode was shown on BBC2 last night) - 3 part documentary about Sandra Rivett's (the murdered nanny, for those not familiar with the case) son who was adopted, and follows him trying to track down Lord Lucan.

If you're interested in this sort of thing, I'd give it a look - it's interesting but also incredibly sad.

It's brilliant.
Sorry to hear you were feeling dejected.

I watched the first episode last night and wasn't too bothered about continuing, but this guardian article has inspired me to carry on tonight: Lucan review – stick with this wild documentary to the end and you will be astonished

Is this a brand new thing about Lucan then? Might give it a go if so.

Yes continue with it, yes give it a go - it is a new documentary.
It goes subtly in a different direction than you might expect.

It isn't an easy watch, but it ends up not being about what you think it might be about.
At least not directly.

It was a really good show, disappointingly it has apparently been cancelled before a 3rd season although I think the producers are possibly trying to pitch elsewhere
I kind of think it had reached a natural conclusion. Might be stretching it a bit if they came back for more

I'm half way through the second episode and determined to see it through now.

Intrigued as to the reveal that keeps being mentioned. Especially because it's obviously not the obvious.

I'm hoping her son gets some kind of closure. That was some envelope he was left 😔.

I wouldn't say there's a reveal as such - just it's not so much about Lucan as you might think at the start, I found it actually quite sad and moving.

S2 of Sherwood is up. I didn't remember watching the whole first season - the fella had to remind me  Anyway, we've nearly finished S1 (again) now and even he'd forgotten loads about it. Last episode tonight and then on to S2.

Excellent writing and disclosure.

Boybands Forever.

3 part documentary covering Take That, East 17, 5ive etc. Focussing on the human cost to the young men involved and absolutely fascinating. I was riveted for duration.

Robbie Williams has some surprisingly intelligent and insightful things to say which I wasn’t expecting!

Irish crime drama Crá set in Donegal is really good. I was feeling a bit under the weather today and ended up binge watching all six episodes. It's in Irish with English subtitles which made it even more enjoyable.

Radio rather than TV

There's a new series of "The Gift" - stories about how DNA tests like 23 and me have affected people in different ways.

I can't listen to it because I know first-hand what it's like to have the sudden revelation forced upon you that you have half-siblings :( :( :(

I’ve got a lot of time for Robbie. He’s got a lot of self awareness:
