Name the films and series you gave up on because the plot was so ridiculous

I keep thinking about watching the news segments about American politics. It used to be quite good but now the plot lines have gone far beyond the bounds of the possible...

Probably far too many to remember tbh for both films and series.
I've never walked out of the cinema though I did fall asleep during Get Shorty.
Some I can remember are the Crown where I lost interest after the first episode though Mrs Q stuck it to the bitter end. We watched 3 seasons of The Good Doctor before we gave up on that.
Victoria lasted one season.

Braveheart

I lasted three minutes I think. I'm still not sure I saw the actual film but I was expecting something a bit vaguely historical but three minutes in it turned into some science fantasy crap. So, was this is parody I saw and not the proper Braveheart at all?

This blog is recounting and commenting on Lost, episode by episode, with a very persuasive argument that the plot really hangs together quite well. It's chock full of spoilers for all series though.

The Crown and Sex Education both suffered from Netflix demanding they churn out increasing numbers of episodes without perhaps checking the standard/quality. The former became terribly silly, the latter didn't know what to do with their adult actors. I faded away from both.

I never watched The Crown, but definitely agree about Sex Education. A sweet, funny show turned into complete Meh by slave driving the writers into "more the same, please".

At which point does The Crown jump the shark plot-wise?

Bad dialogue writing, boring action or blandness will make me turn a prog off but so long as its well written I'll stick with it. Highlander 2 fails on both counts tbf and I finished that.

Eastenders
There was a point - around 2011 I think - when I gave up on Eastenders - not so much for the ridiculousness of the plots because of its total miserabalism, beyond any necessity or entertainment value (mainly the Ronnie Mitchell babyswap plot) ....I started watching again in 2021 and it's been a lot better.

I probably didn't get to that point since I bailed after Season 1 Episode 1 on the grounds it was so boring just lots of people standing about in dark rooms smoking and talking about boring stuff.
Let's face the whole series had just one car chase and that wasn't until around S5 or 6? Surely that should be in the first couple of episodes to build the tension.

So agreed, it was boring as fuck. Then I got told like ah it gets better when you have watched x number of series, which was something like 100 hours of content. No thanks.
Well that's not true as there is only about 60 hours in total.

But still I don't get why people say things like that. I could get saying wait for the second or third episode as the first episode is a bit different to what comes after. But if it isn't working for you by episode 3 then it's not for you. Oh and you are also wrong.
