This is excruciatingly cringe worthy

They'd probably rather engage with her than the father! and as G.W. and indeed the very same Justin Trudeau have shown, in North America being the child of an elected leader, greatly increases your chance of getting the job yourself.

Ironic that when criticizing the regime in the DPRK, the Kim dynasty is often given as example of dictator-like nepotism.

Trump claims homelessness is 'phenomenon that started 2 years ago,' blames Dem mayors

President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News painted a dark picture of people “living in hell” due to homelessness in major U.S. cities, claiming that it is “a phenomenon that started two years ago,” blaming Democratic mayors for the problem.

President Donald Trump appears in an interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson that aired on July 1, 2019.

“We may intercede,” Trump said. “We may do something to get that whole thing cleaned up.”

The sit-down interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson that aired Monday night was taped during Trump’s recent visit to Japan. During the interview Carlson asked the president about Japanese cities which he said are clean, have no graffiti and there is “no one going to the bathroom on the streets.” By contrast, Carlson noted that American cities including Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco have a problem with what he called "filth."

He pointed to the “liberal establishment” and sanctuary cities run by "very liberal people" to blame for this crisis.

“We have to take the people and do something. We have to do something,” Trump said. “That's not really the kind of work that the government probably should be doing. We never had this in our lives before in our country."

While Trump said that he has been fighting this problem in Washington, D.C., and is looking into addressing homelessness in other cities, he gave no specifics.

Trump Administration Sends Out Notices Of $500,000 Fines For Those In U.S. Illegally

The Trump administration is seeking to fine some immigrants in the United States illegally hundreds of thousands of dollars for failing to take steps to leave after being ordered to do so, according to government documents obtained by NPR.

The Department of Homeland Security sent out a batch of notices across the country to targeted individuals ordering them to pay fines of up to nearly $500,000 for "failing to depart the U.S. as previously agreed," among other factors.

It's the latest hard-line effort by the administration as it clamps down on illegal immigration at the border and increases interior enforcement.

"It is the intention of ICE to order you pay a fine in the amount of $497,777," Lisa Hoechst, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, wrote to Edith Espinal Moreno in a letter dated June 25, 2019, obtained by NPR from lawyers for Moreno.

Apart from Trump's usual moron statements, the house democrats have gone a step further - Let's hope they get what they want

House Democrats file lawsuit to obtain Trump tax returns - CNNPolitics

The Democrat-led House Ways and Means Committee filed a lawsuit on Tuesday to enforce subpoenas and obtain President Donald Trump's tax returns, an escalation in a fight for the President's personal financial information.

The lawsuit was filed in D.C. District Court against Treasury and the IRS and their respective leaders, Steve Mnuchin and Charles Rettig.....
Chairmen of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee to request and obtain an individual's tax information for a legitimate legislative purpose.

Team Trump will claim this is party politics, and it is to a level, but these returns are likely to expose serious illegal activity committed by a sitting president, and that makes it legitimate.

Putting things like tanks in parades is really really hard the russians have had decades to get it right and keep tanks just to do the parade with as they have specially tuned gearing a specially reinforced parade route and units practice all year to pull off the parade.
Anyone whose ever tried it with standard issue tracked vehicles has immediatly regretted it. The City council put everything it could think of in the bill for the cost of damage helped by the pentagon that wanted nothing to do with it :). It would be a major undertaking getting enough hardware to washington let alone training to pull the parade off

still impasse on the WTO situation. Trumpo could effectively force the WTO arbitration structure to collapse by the end of the year by refusing to staff it.both cheers and boos on all sides of the spectrum on this one.

he's like a kid planning his birthday buffet: 'I want tanks big tanks and lots of them, just like the nazis. what do you mean the nazis were our enemies?'

About 15 years ago, the BBC commissioned and then cancelled* a cartoon series called Popetown, where the pontiff was an immature brat. Quite prescient, even if they chose the wrong world leader to satire.

*Down with this sort of thing!

*if you're going to fix something, do it so it isn't east to bust

'Supporters' in Trump adverts were actors

The question isn't about the ad agency's cheap idiocy, it;s why they used cheap stock footage when there's so much money flying around. Still, I'm sure Trump isn't giving them shoestring money and pocketing the rest - or maybe I'm not sure

At least our politicians don't go in for this tank nonsense

Tbf that was in a field and not a close knit formation in public.
Trump wants a photo op he can be flown to any tank base and can spen all day being driven around in all sorts of tanks cost $$ disruption minimal.
What he wanted was a Russian style parade.
What he's getting is a few tanks on static parade :)

The other question is why those ads refer to ‘President Trump and his family’ rather than just the man himself. Setting himself up as a dynasty?

Good to see the president isn't letting fake news weather forecasts dampen his spirits.

Are those tanks or the Lincoln Memorial likely to attract lightning?
