What stupid shit has Trump done today?

awesome, why don't you start a thread about it?

your constant off-topic posts and personal attacks on some posters are a distraction to a very good thread

/hovers finger over block button

Sorry.

Everyone who voted Trump, Stein or didn't bother to vote at all is an irredeemable racist and sexist and a good political strategy for ensuring that Khaalesi wins next time is to scold them on social media. Hope that was better and more in keeping with the spirit of the thread.

Everyone who voted Trump, Stein or didn't bother to vote at all is an irredeemable racist and sexist was at the very least willing to live with Trump's racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamaphobia, lack of relevant experience, history of corruption, nepotism, aspirations to kleptocracy, etc., should he be elected. Perhaps some were in complete denial that he could be elected at all. Others fully agreed with his views and welcomed his vision for America.

Fixed that for you. You're welcome! :p

Does trump do irony?

"I think it's terrible, if you want to know the truth. I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on in this country... A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves, and much worse than that."

You know, you could save yourself and everyone time by just not asking questions unless you're actually interested in answers.

I am interested in answers. I provided a key example, which was the leader of one country standing in the parliament of another and using that platform to denounce the leader of the other country in a bid to swing a forthcoming election in favour of his opponent.

This happened during the Obama-Romney election, and was a very clear case of electoral interference. There are plenty of others which you yourself could research if you are sufficiently interested, look at coverage of AIPAC rallies or the donors to the CAP and other Washington D.C think tanks which are aligned closely with the leadership of both parties.

I don't see the relevance of giving these other examples, and there are many potential examples to choose from, because I'm not particularly interested in pursuing the argument of this or that electoral interference being worse or better though it does seem to me that if you were to play that game the role of Israel would be more significant.

What does interest me is why Israeli, and other, interference in US elections is tolerated and even encouraged by both parties while Russian intervention real and imagined is an existential threat to the US.

To be honest, I'm not really interested in the question either, I just thought you were.

Anyone returned from the US recently? Did you know this was happening?

There Is No Good Reason for the Government to Scan People’s Faces as They Leave the Country

Currently, DHS’s biometric exit program scans travelers at international departure gates at 11 U.S. airports and collects their biometric data (a fingerprint or face print). This includes both American citizens and foreign visitors, and DHS plans to expand the program to all of the country’s international airports within four years. In 2017, President Trump issued an executive order speeding up the implementation of biometrics at the border, and immigration reform legislation this year could include money to expand the current program.

DHS officials say airport face scans are necessary to detect immigrants trying to cheat the visa overstay tracking system by using someone else’s ID when they leave. But DHS has failed to produce any evidence that that’s a serious problem. In fact, DHS’s own experts have questioned the program. According to the Government Accountability Office, “DHS reported in May 2012 that significant questions remained regarding … the additional value biometric air exit would provide compared with the current [nonbiometric] process, and … the overall value and cost of a biometric air exit capability.”

Furthermore, DHS hasn’t supplied any evidence that airport face scans will even accurately detect people attempting to leave the country using someone else’s credentials.

Was thinking of going this year but, tbh, between Trump and people like you I can't think why the fuck I would.

I think the difference is that Israeli interference and influence is done out in the open while Russian activity is covert. Also Israel and the US have a "special relationship" which means when Israel says jump the US usually asks how high? Lastly, the issue isn't mainly how evil and threatening Russian interference is but weather there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and whether there were crimes committed in this collusion or it's cover up.

Well, as much as I miss my family, I doubt I'll ever go back there, so don't let me stand in your way. But, you might want to stay out of Scotland, just in case! :)

You think that openly funding election campaigns, partisan institutions and directly attacking some candidates while supporting others is not 'direct interference' in an election but a few twitter bots posting misleading memes to #groundhogday is? Interesting.

I could easily be wrong as I haven't done enough research but Israel doesn't seem to fund election campaigns any more than other interest groups, and that seems to be acceptable political activity in the US. I can't say I like it even slightly but the bribes, sorry, campaign contributions appear to be legal and normal there.
I have no issues with Jews, even Israeli Jews but I really dislike the Israeli government, the occupation of a whole lump of Palestine, and the mass murder I believe that government is guilty off.
I absolutely object to the way Trump is handling the issue, more so because he seems to be getting paid to do it in one way or another.
Israel, their illegal occupation and mass killings is always a contentious subject so that's perhaps for other threads, all except stuff Trump is up to over there.
Trump moving the US embassy is a crackpot move (IMO), and one that's deliberately designed to cause trouble.

More on the Page mess - this is turning into a wild ride :D

Former Trump adviser called himself adviser to Kremlin in 2013 letter: Time

Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page referred to himself as an “advisor to the staff of the Kremlin” in a 2013 letter to an academic publisher, Time reported Saturday.

The publication reported that it had obtained the 2013 letter sent during a dispute about edits on a manuscript Page had written.

“Over the past half year, I have had the privilege to serve as an informal advisor to the staff of the Kremlin in preparation for their Presidency of the G-20 Summit next month, where energy issues will be a prominent point on the agenda,” Page wrote, according to Time.

Yep, watching his phone calls was clearly unjustified - NOT

I hate this 'black unemployment' stuff along with all the other race based stuff.
Don't know about you guys but I don't give a shit what colour someone's skin is, everyone is the same and we should all treat each other as people, not black people, white people or anything else.
I liked it when Obama (the half white guy) got the job but Trump is doing everything he can to create division and hate.
Screw Trump, make sure all kids get the best education possible and make sure everyone has the same chance to have a good life regardless of skin colour, if they happen to be gay, or whatever else people use asstupid excuses to hate other people.

Nuclear missiles - Fuck Trumps new nukes and spend the cash on education.

Education for all is the key to a good life and social well being for the vast majority and even a moron like trump should be able to work that simple thing out but I suspect he's pocketing some cash somewhere so it's a 'screw the reality' job in favour of what he can make.
If he really wants to make America great again, make the people great and the country will follow.
Not an easy job as you'd have to reverse years of hate and bigotry but it can be done if the right leaders are in place.
Problem with Trump is he's flaming the old hatred and making things a lot worse. Wonder how long it will take for America to recover from him.

The UN vote shows that there is plenty of covert collusion too.

Come on, the only difference is that the Russia stuff is being pushed by the likes of MSNBC in the exact same way that Glenn Beck pushed racist conspiracy theories about Obama on Fox. It's all top down nativist hysteria, and it isn't even working.

It's not racist to look at economic statistics by race you idiot.

It's not racist to look at economic statistics by race - but with somebody like Donald Trump, who has very clearly been racist against black people his entire life, from a 1972 lawsuit when he was investigated for refusing to rent Trump properties to black people, to last week or whenever when he said America should invite more immigrants from Norway instead of "shithole" countries in Africa, it does leave a sour taste when he starts going on about how black people have never had it so good.

Absolutely. I was responding to what the poster actually said though.
