US election 2020 thread

I think Biden will just scrape the popular vote tbh but it will be close and we'll never hear the end of the lawsuits on both sides. those rushed judge appointments were a cunning move

We'll never hear the end of it if jb wins without the popular vote as djt did last time, it'll be all 'i told you it was rigged'

Well yeah. But a biden victory is more advantageous for the republicans, in the long term. The never trumper section of the republicans tends to get left out of most analyses.

Trump is like a shock in that regard. kick yer arse into gear, but having him around for too long is volatile.

I think the shirt tucker inner wanker has a point with the first bit. Seems silly not to call Florida - must be an alterior motive at play?

He'll do more than scrape the popular vote frogwoman . OK Trump looks likely to take NC, GA and TX but the fact that those states were/are even in play shows the strength of the anti-Trump vote

EDIT: And the NH results back up the above, HC just winning there in 2016, Biden at ~+9% this year

I'll draw initial parallels with Brexit & 2019 GE in that it would appear that the right have been successful in bringing out a load of people who don't vote much to vote for them
Does this mean trump did draw new supporters over these four years?

It would seem so. Or at least drawn out more people who were soft supporters but didn't vote
Same goes for the other side too. Lots of forces at play

Fox news have called Arizona for Biden. If true it's the first state to be flipped by either side.

The pic of Dimbleby with the BBC News overlay saying "We've fucked it lads", after May's 17 election, is my high water mark of interest in politics as an adult.

Edit: Found it! Who says there was nothing positive to take from tonight!
