Urban75 Album of the Year 2002

Think I've got 18 non-compilations on my list, I suppose you're going to argue that the first Yeah Yeah Yeahs EP is technically "not an album" and "only 13 minutes long"?

Ever Been To Mexico? is another great record cruelly disqualified by the arbitrary "clearly an EP not an album" rule:

Submit a separate list of EP's/singles if you want to and I'll see what I can do with them.

No.1 spot completely unassailable now. May even end up getting twice the points of the no.2 spot. But what is it?

Turns out there's a lot of secret *o***l*y fans out there.

Hello everyone!

Before this month I'd only ever listened to three albums from this year and one of those is a compilation and another one is an archival release from 1975. I have no history with anything in the likely results. So when it comes to commentary I'm only going to be giving my dubious hot takes. So I'm thinking if anybody wants to send me a sentence or two about their top three albums then I can include that for the countdown. Anonymously if you want.

But that way we can feel a bit more love.

Oh and I've given you a like if I've counted your entries. If you don't have a like from me in the conversations then I've missed you somehow and you should speak up.

The "Rush Of Blood To The Head" album of theirs is their best. They tried to change it up and make it more aggressive with different tempos.

It works. And they still play it now.

I'm with AverageJoe, it's a great album. Very few bands can come up with an album with so many effortless hits with such variation of style.

But I want to hear your dubious hot takes - love, scorn, befuddlement and all.

Still trying to work this one out - the Fall didn't do anything between Are You Missing Winner and The Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country on the Click), so I'm just going to assume there must be a lesser-known Wet Leg album that came out when they were about five.

Largely unknown Swans album. Maybe....

I don't think I'm going to do this today so you've all got an extra day if you want to still submit.

Need more electro-dance or Coldplay will win.
