Uber drivers to sue Sadiq Khan for racial discrimination

Obstructing a highway is a crime, a serious one if it prevents access for emergency vehicles. I can see why they use that tactic though, simply going on strike is not exactly a threat if the only consequence is reduced traffic, cleaner air and less racism.

There was a black cab demo a few months ago in which they blocked the road and the cycle lane (Blackfriars Rd outside the TfL office). I asked the copper whether they were arresting cabbies as a result and he told me that TfL had told them to go easy so they weren’t. I hadn’t realised TfL controlled the police as well but there you go.
