Suella Braverman's time is up.

Not surprised.

I wonder if, as the Tories realise just how fucked they are, that the more extreme people drift away and somehow the Conservative Party becomes the mainstream right-wing party while Reform just goes totally cuckoo-bananas

...as the far right mainstream party.

If Tory membership get a vote on the new leader and some fash loon isn't on the ballot, I expect a massive move towards Refuk from members.

There will be far more leadership contests in the Tory party over the next few years then there could ever be in Reform, and the membership will always vote for the most right wing candidate. She’d be best off waiting for her turn,

Yeah I'd be slightly surprised if she went to Refuk, only on the grounds that I'd think she'd only go if there was a route to being leader and it doesn't look like there is one while Farage is around. They'll probably be three or four splinter parties in a couple of years.

Why would she leave an organisation that she wants to lead for another that she can't lead for so long as it's being lead by the only reason that it exists in the first place?

She’s worked out she will never lead the organisation she wants to lead & she can be as deranged as she likes in the private company as their customers will be kept happy by her extremist ramblings.

Very stupid and very dangerous in equal measure

It would be a surprising move indeed and I am not sure that her constituents would be very happy with it.

I’m not surprised at all by this. I don’t know Fareham as a place but suspect the local Conservafive Association will be split between summer-fete organising blazers & blue rinses who will be horrified at her disloyalty, and those who fantasise about young National Servicemen machine-gunning the small boats, who will be absolutely fine with it.

I don't know the area at all either but I somehow can't imagine Suella taking on a backroom role within reform and on the other hand I struggle to imagine her as any kind of figurehead for that party. But we shall see🙂

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it, but the potential media exposure of being 1 of just 5 RefUKer MPs might appeal.

If it happens she’ll become their Home Affairs spokesperson and ramble on about bringing back hanging & re-animating senseless cruelty like Rwanda.

It will be a post about as consequential as Lee Anderthal’s ‘chief whip’ position, but will allow her endless Talk TV / GB News exposure and a good supply of bloody red meat for Reform’s very angry vest-wearing psycho customer base.

She’ll also be waiting until Farage (inevitably) gets bored & moves on to something else. Tice isn’t up to front line politics, having flatlined as Reform leader, and the ex-Southampton chairman is a nonentity.
